Jessa Duggar Due Date: Before Baby No. 2 Is Born, Little Sister Jinger Duggar Could Steal Spotlight With Pregnancy Of Her Own

Jessa Duggar is expecting her second child, but even before her due date arrives, there could be still another baby on the way for the ever-expanding 19 Kids and Counting family.

Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, just confirmed that the ever-present pregnancy rumors are true, and they’ll be expecting another baby early next year. Jessa said her due date is sometime in February 2017, and she even threw in a bit of a hint that it could be twins.

“We are overjoyed to announce that Spurgeon has a new title in life as ‘big brother’! We are so thankful that God is adding to our family,” the couple said in a statement to Us Weekly. “2017 is shaping up to be a wonderful year already and we know Spurgeon will do a great job in his new role. Having Spurgeon has been such a wonderful blessing and we cannot wait to see the face of this sweet new baby (or babies!).”

Jessa and Ben were married in November 2014 at the family’s First Baptist Church in Arkansas. Their first baby came exactly one year later, but given the family’s tendency to have children early and often, there had been rampant speculation that Spurgeon would be getting a little sibling very soon afterward.

There had also been reports that Jessa and Ben were planning to adopt, with Jessa even telling Us Weekly that they had completed some of the preliminary steps needed to adopt.

“We have many friends who have walked this road, so we have seen firsthand the amazing power of adoption,” Jessa said. “There are so many kids out there who are longing for the love of a family, and we feel strongly about opening our hearts and our home to welcome them in.”

For now, Jessa and Ben appear to be enjoying the very busy time they’re having raising Spurgeon. The couple often shares pictures and videos as he is growing up, including the mischief he can get into as a toddler.

But there is now a chance that another Duggar sister could steal the baby spotlight even before Jessa Duggar reaches her due date. Jessa’s sister, Jinger Duggar, has just announced her engagement to Jeremy Vuolo after a short courtship, and at least one family member thinks Jinger will waste no time in adding a baby to the already gigantic extended family.

As International Business Times reported, Jill is fairly confident that Jinger wants to have a baby very soon.

“Jill Dillard is predicting which of her many siblings will be the next one to have a baby. Jill, who’s mom to 16-month-old Israel, said she thinks her newly engaged sister Jinger Duggar and her fiancé Jeremy Vuolo could very well be announcing in the not-so-distant future that they’re expecting.”

“‘We will just have to wait and see,’ she said during an interview with Us Weekly on Tuesday. Her husband, Derick Dillard, also thinks Jinger will be next among the Duggar clan to announce a pregnancy.”

There is still a lot up in the air regarding the rumors that Jinger Duggar might be announcing a pregnancy before Jessa’s due date. For one, Jinger and Jeremy have yet to announce exactly when they plan to get married, although both Jessa and Jill wasted little time in walking down the aisle after getting engaged.

And there will be yet another sister vying for the baby spotlight. Jill announced on a recent promo for their show, Counting On, that she and husband Derek Dillard are also trying to have another baby, Entertainment Tonight Online reported. Whether that baby could also be announced before Jill Duggar’s due date remains to be seen.
