Brave Girls: K-Pop Idol Girl Group Next To Use Sexy Concept For ‘High Heels’ But Turn Into Disney Princesses For Dance Version Video

There are many popular K-pop idol girl groups in the industry today, including Twice, Wonder Girls, 2NE1, f(x), and Girls’ Generation, which is recognized as the most popular idol girl group in K-pop ever. The one singular detail about the aforementioned is they were signed and created under the “Big Three” of entertainment agencies: SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment.

Sadly, there are many K-pop idol girl groups in existence or have existed but they just can’t cut it in the ruthless industry. There are many exceptions such as GFriend, Apink, T-ara, Sistar, and others, but seen as a whole, they are a small percentage. Usually as a last resort, K-pop idol girl groups result to the “sexy angle” to finally make it. That is the case for both EXID and Stellar: former did such with “Up & Down” and the latter with “Marionette.”

Now the latest K-pop idol girl group to utilize the sexy concept is Brave Girls in their new song “High Heels.” However, Brave Girls still showed their cute and fun side by releasing a dance version of the song as Disney Princesses.

Brave Girls coming back is technically a big deal for them given the fact that they haven’t been active for the past four years. According to Korea Times, their comeback took years to plan and coordinate after their previous run, which gave us songs like “Push Push,” “So Cool,” and “Alone,” failed to gain the K-pop idol girl group recognition. When Brave Girls returned, the lineup changed with two original members, Yoojin and Hyeran, being joined by five new members, Minyeong, Yujeong, Eunji, Yuna, and Hayun.

Because of how the K-pop industry was when they first came on the scene, it was “easier” for Brave Girls to make hits and land cameos and guest spots on variety shows. In this case, Brave Girls made a cameo on “Protect the Boss.” [Image via Screen Capture of “Protect the Boss”]
Hyeran, one of the original members, provided her insight on why the “previous guard” of Brave Girls failed, insinuating their success was “easy” and it did them no favors for being “greedy.”

“We changed a lot in four years. We made it to the top of the chart as soon as we released new songs back then, but it’s not been so easy to do these days. Even TV music shows work differently now and we decided to get rid of our greed but still try the best we can.”

The one detail about Brave Girls’ comeback is the fact that they are following in the footsteps of EXID and Stellar in pursuing a sexy concept. This can be seen as Brave Girls’ “last chance” to finally make it big especially after their last song titled “Deepened” disappeared quickly despite making it on the 100 online music chart. Anyway, to help push “High Heels,” Brave Girls is promising to release “special video footage” if the music video receives over 500,000 views on YouTube.

Apparently, that “special video footage” was Brave Girls performing a dance version of “High Heels” as Disney Princesses. The fun video showing off their girly charms this time around contrasts their sexy concept, as reported by AllKpop. Still, it is a nice “gift to the fans” who are helping Brave Girls reach 500,000 views for the “High Heels” music video, especially to those who are huge Disney fans.
