Bill O’Reilly And Donald Trump Condemn Hillary Clinton FBI Decision

Bill O’Reilly began his show in an angry mood Tuesday evening.

“Earlier today, FBI Director James Comey issued a long statement about the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email and national security,” he said, right before playing a video of Comey claiming he could not find a case supporting criminal prosecution against Clinton that is based on the facts the FBI has gathered.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Comey said that Hillary acted very carelessly with her email server but didn’t act with any malicious intent to obstruct justice. Bill O’Reilly believes that Comey was clear in his motivation statement, but that he completely downplayed the negligence aspect of the case. He believes Hillary didn’t have to show malicious intent; the actual law doesn’t require that she does. He noted that the FBI gave out a similar ruling to a similar case in 1986.

“Comey has legal history on his side, but that will not allay suspicions that the case was decided on politics,” the Fox News host continued, before noting that Comey scolded Hillary Clinton in a way that has rarely been seen.

“Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless of their handling of highly classified information,” Comey said in another video O’Reilly played.

O’Reilly said that one would think that Americans would want to elect a person with a record of competency. And he also believes that Clinton’s situation gives Donald Trump a big opening, because no matter what happened with things like Trump University, it doesn’t come close to the scrutiny of Hillary Clinton’s email situation. He compared Clinton’s email situation to leaving a child in a hot car and that the parent would be charged with negligence, regardless of intent.

Bill O’Reilly then brought Donald Trump on to talk about the situation, and as expected, Trump was fuming.

“It was especially surprising in the middle of the talk when he [Comey] talked about all the mistakes she made… It sounded to me like there was no choice but to convict,” Trump said in response to O’Reilly’s question of whether the decision not to convict Mrs. Clinton was honest.

Trump stated that he has so much respect for the FBI, but that he just doesn’t understand what happened in this situation because Hillary is extremely guilty. Unlike Bill O’Reilly, Donald Trump believes that Hillary Clinton did actually have malicious intent. Trump said Hillary knew exactly what she was doing.

It’s not only right-wing sources that are critical of Hillary’s situation. The Washington Post notes that Clinton’s email problems are worse than anybody had previously thought.

“Most importantly, Comey said the FBI found 110 emails on Clinton’s server that were classified at the time they were sent or received. That stands in direct contradiction to Clinton’s repeated insistence she never sent or received any classified emails. And it even stands in contrast to her amended statement that she never knowingly sent or received any classified information.”

The article summarized that Comey’s statement is a complete rebuke of the story Clinton and her campaign team have been telling ever since the issue of her private email server took to the national stage more than one year ago.

Many believe that this issue won’t go away before the election. You can bet that people like Bill O’Reilly and Donald Trump will talk about it on a daily basis.
