Who Killed Tina And Krissy Geiger? Developmentally Disabled Mother And 11-Year-Old Daughter Found Stabbed To Death In Michigan Home

Investigators in Michigan are turning to the public to help solve a double homicide that went unsolved for three years, according to WXYZ Detroit. On July 30, 2013, the bodies of 47-year-old Tina Geiger and her 11-year-old daughter, Krissy, were found stabbed to the death in their Detroit apartment home near Harper and 16 mile.

Documents stated that the mother and daughter were developmentally disabled, and therefore, a social worker would often check on them. However, when the mother and daughter were unable to be reached, the manager at Parkway Village Apartments went to their home and made a gruesome discovery.

Tine and her daughter were found dead in their second-floor apartment, reportedly stabbed multiple times. Detroit police officials were immediately notified of the double homicide, and upon arrival, they scoured the apartment for “fingerprints, DNA, and what other information they could gather.”

After investigating the apartment, detectives say it was uncovered that nothing was taken from the home, and there were no signs of forced entry. They did, however, retrieved evidence from the crime, but they are still missing a key element to help solve the murder mystery.

Lt. Eric Reincke stated that “it’s a situation where the door could have been unlocked. The door could have been ajar before somebody went in or it could have been a known party. We don’t know at this point.”

After learning that a mother and daughter were brutally killed in their apartment, neighbors were stunned, stating that they had just seen the mother doing laundry in a common area just four days before the Michigan mother and daughter were found stabbed to death.

One neighbor told reporters that she hopes the killer or the killers “rot in h*** because no one should do that to a child.”

Cheryl Gladieux, who is Tina’s sister, stated, “I’m just so worried her case is going to be put on a shelf somewhere and not be heard of again. I need closure.”

Gladieux went on to say that she “really miss them a lot. I light a candle for them every night to this day.”

Police officials believe that there is someone out there that knows something but is afraid to come forward.

Detective Joseph Burns told reporters that “there is a tremendous amount of evidence in this case, but the evidence is only as good to us as when we are able to correlate it with actual individuals that may potentially have been there.”

“Did anybody see them with anyone? What did those people look like if they saw them with anyone? Did they see them get into any cars that could potentially be helpful to us?”

Investigators say the mother and daughter lived somewhat of a reclusive lifestyle, only interacting with family, neighbors, as well as clerks at a nearby 7-eleven.

The assailant could very well be someone the Michigan mother and daughter knew, which is why they arrested 32-year-old Jay Thomas Miller, who is a convicted sex offender, just shortly after Tina and Krissy were found stabbed to death in their apartment home, according to Click on Detroit. Police officials stated that he knew the victims and lied about being in the apartment. However, he was not charged with the double murders and is now institutionalized.

For three years, investigators have been looking for witnesses to help solve the murder mystery but have not had any luck.

“Someone’s got to know something,” said the victim’s sister, who desperately wants to find out who killed Tina and Krissy Geiger. “They got to know something, I truly believe that. There’s too many people in that apartment to not know something, but I’m sure they were scared and hopefully after 3 years they won’t be scared no more and they’ll actually come forward.”

An award is being offered to anyone who can provide information in the case, and police officials say the individual(s) who come forward have the option of remaining anonymous.

If anyone has any information regarding the stabbing deaths of Tina Geiger and her 11-year-old daughter, Krissy, Detroit police officials urge you to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or Clinton Township Police at 586-493-7839.
