Heather Clem: Woman Featured In Hulk Hogan’s Sex Tape Thrown Into Spotlight As His $100 Million Lawsuit Against Gawker Begins

Heather Clem reportedly called the moment one of the lowest of her life, but now the woman featured in Hulk Hogan’s notorious sex tape may have to re-live the experience again as the wrestling legend prepares to go to trial over the video.

Hogan was featured in an explicit video with Clem, the ex-wife of Hogan’s friend and radio shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge (who has since legally changed his name to Bubba the Love Sponge Clem). The video was secretly filmed in 2007 and leaked to the internet five years later, the New York Times reported.

The story of Hulk Hogan’s sex tape has gone from tabloid news to one of the major stories in the media industry. Hogan is suing the popular website Gawker for $100 million for what he called an invasion of privacy. It was Gawker that first published the explicit video showing Hulk Hogan and Heather Clem, and then kept the video up despite repeated requests to have it taken down.
Gawker has plans to argue that Hulk Hogan was a media-friendly celebrity who often discussed his sex life, making the sex tape fair game.”Gawker is defending its First Amendment right to join an ongoing conversation about a celebrity when others are talking about it and the celebrity is talking about it,” the website’s chief lawyer in the case, Seth D. Berlin of the firm Levine, Sullivan, Koch & Schulz, told the New York Times.”This is a crucial issue not only for Gawker, but for all media organizations,” he said.It is not clear how the video leaked. Some had pointed fingers at Bubba the Love Sponge, who denied leaking it but said that it was stolen from him. As 411Mania reported, he will not be offering any further explanation once the Hulk Hogan sex tape trial begins.

“Clem’s attorney announced late on Friday (March 4) that Clem would be brought in to testify and would invoke the Fifth Amendment, which is the right to stay silent. The reasoning for Clem making this decision was not discussed. However, attorney for Gawker are suggesting that Clem might have perviously perjured himself in his depositions for the case.”

“Earlier in the week, evidence came out saying that Clem and Hogan had previously reached a settlement over the sex tape for $5,000. In addition, Clem is said to have agreed that he would assist Hogan in the legal fallout of the of the release of the tape clips. Gawker was reportedly planning on calling Clem to the stand to testify, and Hogan’s attorneys did not intend to use Clem as a witness.”

But Heather Clem has already expressed regret over her role in the sex tape. She said her husband arranged the tryst, knowing that Hulk Hogan was unhappy in his marriage.
Back in 2012, The Stir reported that she was ashamed not only about her role, but by the content of the sex tape itself.

“Heather is reportedly ‘completely devastated’ by the video leak. She’s embarrassed partly because she considers Hulk ‘cheesy,’ though on the tape she refers to him as a ‘hot commodity.’ Does that make Hulk nacho cheese?”

“She’s also reportedly embarrassed by all of Hulk’s interruptions, what with stopping her in the middle of a sex act to check his cellphone (‘Let me see if that’s Nick. Hold on.’) and later going on about how he feels like a pig because he ate too much earlier.”

Heather Clem also reportedly said that the Hulk Hogan sex tape “makes her look like a piece of meat.”
