Guns N’ Roses To Bring A New Album And More Former Members Into The Mix?

Guns N’ Roses is headed for a reunion tour. Everyone knows that by now, but what’s new about this highly anticipated reunion is that it may be accompanied by new music, or, possibly, precede a new Guns N’ Roses album. Sources very close to Guns N’ Roses musicians report that new music from the band is a very high probability.

Also adding to the hype of this reunion is the rumor that more original band members are expected to be rejoining Guns N’ Roses. While fans may have been satisfied just to see Axl Rose and Slash patch things up, a full Guns N’ Roses reunion would certainly drive up ticket sales that much further and encourage interest in that rumored new album.

Is A New Guns N’ Roses Album On The Way?

Rumors that new Guns N’ Roses music is in the works comes after Slash’s former publicist reported that the guitarist and songwriter was logging studio time. The publicist feels very confident that Slash is working on behalf of Guns N’ Roses, denying suggestions that the studio time could be for some other project.

“I know they’re doing some recording,” Vereecke said. “They’re definitely doing something there in the studio. Axl hasn’t been there, but Slash is definitely in there and it’s not for anyone else.”

Bringing Slash back into the studio to work on new music may be just what Guns N’ Roses needs to revitalize their sound. It seems like a perfect opportunity for the band to jump back on top, as they reunite at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, especially if they can access the hard hitting sounds that made Appetite for Destruction such a phenomenal success. It remains to be seen whether we’ll see a smattering of new songs, or enough for a whole new album, but, either way, it will be exciting to hear anything new from the reunited Guns N’ Roses.

Guns N’ Roses Brings Back Another Prodigal Son

Of the original line-up, only Slash and Duff McKagan were expected to rejoin Axl for the Guns N’ Roses tour, but new reports indicate Izzy Stradlin will also be a part of this reunion. A source close to the band says McKagan was joined in the studio by guitarist Stradlin, where the two musicians worked together on a couple of Guns N’ Roses tracks.

DJ Ashba, who formerly played guitar for Guns N’ Roses and currently performs with SIXX: A.M., is hopeful that rumors of Stradlin’s return to the band are true, but adds that he wished Steven Adler come back into the fold.

“I love it for the fans. However, I hope they bring in Steven, Izzy and even Matt [Sorum] and Gilby [Clarke],” Ashba said, when news of the Guns N’ Roses reunion first broke.

DJ Ashba has been a long time fan of the Axl Rose fronted band, even before he took the job as their guitarist.

“I’ve always been a fan of Slash’s playing; that was a big reason why I took the gig!”

Although Ashba has since moved on from his Guns N’ Roses gig, he says that the band continues to inspire him. He adds that working with Axl Rose and the rest of Guns N’ Roses has been “the most incredible journey I could have possibly imagined.”

As it stands now, Guns N’ Roses has only scheduled a total of six concerts at three locations. They will perform at Coachella, Mexico City, and Las Vegas. More tour dates are expected to be added in the future, but band members may be reluctant to commit until they experience these first few concerts.
