‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood’s Custody Battle With Gary Shirley Rages On! Plus, Did She Undergo Plastic Surgery?

Amber Portwood is reportedly involved in an ongoing custody battle with her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley, over their 6-year-old daughter, Leah. Ahead of the Teen Mom OG star’s 2011-2012 stint in prison, Portwood signed over rights to Shirley, but now that she’s been out for three years, and sober for the entirety, she’s hoping to resume her role as a full-time mom. Unfortunately, Shirley isn’t on board, and according to a new sneak peek, he’s been manipulating Leah.

“When I had her and I brought her to my grandmother’s, Leah said to me, ‘Daddy told me if I keep saying I want to live with you they are going to take me away from daddy,'” Amber Portwood is seen telling her producer Kiki during a sneak peek at the January 11 episode of Teen Mom OG, shared by OK! Magazine.

“[Leah] kept saying she wanted to live here. She kept saying that,” Amber Portwood recalled. “So, he probably is getting threatened by that, which, the court is not going to ask a 6-year-old who she wants to live with. For him to even say that to her is f—ing with her head.”

According to Amber Portwood, Shirley’s refusal to see the change within her is their main problem. For years, while filming early seasons of Teen Mom, Amber Portwood and Shirley were seen at odds, constantly fighting, and getting violent during at least one instance. However, as fans now know, it was Amber Portwood’s drug use which led to the majority of her bad behavior. Then, after filming concluded on Teen Mom Season 4, Amber Portwood’s drug addiction led to a five year prison term, which she opted to serve in lieu of a drug program.

While Amber Portwood agreed to serve time, her sentence came to an end just 15 months later, and upon her release, she showcased her new self. Sadly, Shirley has still not recognized the clear changes in his ex-fiancee’s life.

“All he wants to do is talk about our past and how I was,” Amber Portwood explained. “I’ve been out for three years and I’m sober. Everybody else in my life, and also the people that watch the show and have seen me that way have excepted me now, and everybody sees me as this different person [and] that’s I’ve changed, but the only person who really can’t see it is Gary.”

Despite the bad blood between Amber Portwood and Shirley, things between her and her new fiancé, Matthew Baier, appear to be going well. After becoming engaged during filming on the previous season of Teen Mom OG, the couple began filming the new season, and while a wedding date has not yet been set, fans could eventually see the nuptials air on the show.

In other Amber Portwood news, OK! Magazine recently speculated about the reality star’s possible cosmetic surgeries or use of fillers. After Amber Portwood shared a few new selfies on Twitter, the magazine claimed her new look may not be natural. However, while it may look as if Amber Portwood has followed in the footsteps of Jenelle Evans and Farrah Abraham, she told fans on social media her photos had been edited prior to posting. Either way, Amber Portwood is remarkably wrinkle-free.
