Katy Perry Wins Out For Most Followers Over Bieber And Swift
Katy Perry has outdone the “Bad Blood” singer once again by being the first to reach 80 million followers on Twitter. Perry now has more followers than Swift and the Biebs! Who knew the “Roar” singer had such a stronghold on the social media front?
Perez Hilton relays the stats between the three powerhouse pop stars.
“[T]he Sorry performer is a close second behind Katy with 72.9 million fans on the social media site, whereas T. Swizzle is far behind in third place with 68.8 million followers. How is that even possible??”
The celebrity news site reminds that Katy believes her popularity on the social media outlet is all due to the fact that she writes her own personalized tweets. The pop star recently shared on this very subject.
“I would say 90 per cent of my Tweets, I’ve just made them up and you can tell because many of them are misspelled and full of typos. But the other five per cent is work related or it’s just to keep people in the know about where I’m playing or if I’m doing a show and I always get really confused.”
Perry has reason to celebrate, seeing as her popularity is not the only element to her stardom that has her at the top rung. The brunette stunner has also ousted Taylor in the pay department, taking the top spot as the highest-paid woman in the music industry.
However, tabloids have run with rumors that Swift and Perry are at odds and constantly in heated competition with one another. The latest from OK! Magazine claims that Perry even banned her team from attending a Taylor Swift concert so to not show support for her apparent “enemy” in the industry.
Gossip Cop relays the claims made by the unreliable tabloid on the Perry/Swift subject.
“Perry’s team feared they would get fired if they showed support for Swift, their boss’s alleged enemy. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, ‘Even employees and freelancers with little kids who wanted to see Taylor felt it would be considered a betrayal.’ The tabloid’s supposed ‘insider’ claims one employee was forced to have a friend ‘take their child to one of Taylor’s shows,’ adding, ‘It was sad because this parent wasn’t able to be there for the kid’s first concert.'”
The magazine then goes on to state that the Taylor Swift ban is as strict as Perry’s team being disallowed to even listen to Swift’s music. True? Certainly not, as Gossip Cop shares.
“Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Perry, who assures us that the tabloid’s story is completely made-up. We’re told the supposed Swift ‘ban’ is simply ‘not true.’ The inaccuracy of the tabloid’s report isn’t particularly surprising.”
OK! was the culprit earlier in the year for circulating a story that alleged Perry was pregnant. The tabloid later apologized to the entertainer for spreading inaccurate and false details.
The singer’s love life has been a mystery as of late also. Katy was recently spotted with ex John Mayer, looking a little unkempt after a night of partying. Rumors are now spreading that the two have rekindled their relationship.
The two swooped into a restaurant together, where they performed a little ditty and then were spotted leaving together in the same car. However, as to whether the two are back on, verification remains to be given. Katy and John may simply be getting along well as duet buddies. Whatever the truth of the matter, they are wished the best in their interactions. Surely fans would be thrilled to find out the two are back together again if this is the case.
