Selena Gomez Is Over ‘Jelena’ And Their Fans Should Be, Too

Selena Gomez is “beyond over” Justin Bieber, to the point that she doesn’t want to talk about him in interviews anymore. It’s probably because of the fact that Justin’s been desperate to get Selena’s attention in the later part of 2015.

Selena Gomez, 23, and Justin Bieber, 21, made the romance rumors swirl yet again when they were spotted together at a bar inside the Montage Hotel. The Biebs even sang “My Girl” to his famous ex-girlfriend. Since then, Gomez has been spotted with 1D’s Niall Horan and Bieber has been linked to many famous women, including Kourtney Kardashian, 36, and Hailey Baldwin, 20. It’s as if Gomez’s encounter with Bieber never happened in the first place.

The “Hands to Myself” singer is not planning to reveal what really happened that night. That’s because Selena doesn’t want talk about her ex anymore. In her recent interview with Rolling Stone, she admitted that she’s done with the speculation over Jelena. Selena is giving the media outlets a New Year’s resolution to follow through on.

“Well, I am sorry, first of all. And honestly, what I would love to be printed is that I am beyond done with talking about that, and him.”

She was open when she was asked if the public video of Bieber singing to her made it hard for her face the journalists at the 2015 American Music Awards in late November.

“Not at all. I don’t alter my life because of what people are going to talk about. If I got and have a great time, I live my life and nothing is going to dictate how I feel unless I let it.”

Ever since the release of her latest album, Revival, it seems like all Selena Gomez is asked about is her ex-boyfriend. It’s clear that there’s more to the singer than just her dating life. Gomez has not only battled body shamers last year, but she also battled lupus. There’s also her new album, which has received high critical acclaim even though it didn’t pick up a Grammy nomination.

This isn’t the first time that Selena has expressed disinterest in all things Jelena. In her October interview with Elle, she talked about her 2014 AMAs performance of “The Heart Wants What It Wants.”

“Everybody was talking about the same thing: my relationship…I was so exhausted. I said, ‘I want this [performance] to be the last time I have to talk about this.”

Selena also revealed that although she’s sick of the questions about their relationship, she would never rule out getting back with him. It’s that same quote that gave Jelena fans some hope about a possible reunion.

“I’ll forever support him and love in a way that we grew up together. I think people want it to be different…[but] I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner.”

It’s clear that Selena Gomez has moved on from her on-and-off relationship with the Biebs. She released the single “Same Old Love,” even though she says it’s not about a particular relationship. Selena has moved on with One Direction singer Niall Horan. The young stars were first spotted at The Nice Guy after the American Music Awards. Then the dating rumors picked up full steam when Gomez and Horan were reportedly kissing at Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s birthday party and holding hands at the Santa Monica Pier, although photos of their alleged dates never surfaced.

And it’s not just the brunette beauty who’s clearly moved on from their whirlwind relationship. Justin Bieber was seen locking lips with model Hailey Baldwin, with whom he’s been vacationing in St. Barts. The dating rumors have been following this young couple all the way back since 2013, but both Hailey and Justin have denied the rumors by saying they’re just good friends. Now it looks like they’re ready to take their relationship to the next level.

If these reports are anything to go by, it’s clear that Gomez and Bieber are desperately trying to move past their relationship — and their fans should, as well.
