‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 5: More Teases For The Dark Swan’s Journey

Once Upon A Time is hitting all the right high notes with Season 5. The series took a big chance with the Dark Swan story line, but Jennifer Morrison is showing loyal fans of the series that she can play with the dark side very well.

Could fans see an Emmy nod for Morrison next year? It is way too soon to tell, but Emma Swan is definitely something to watch on Once Upon A Time Season 5.

On the next episode, Once Upon A Time Season 5 Episode 3 titled, “Siege Perilous,” Emma will have more interactions with Hook, and he might not be too thrilled about spending some alone time with the Dark Swan. Spoiler TV shared the details for the episode released by ABC.

“In Camelot, the heroes feverishly work to free Merlin. Determined to help Emma, David embarks on a quest to retrieve a magical relic that Regina could use to communicate with the imprisoned sorcerer, but, when David leaves, Arthur insists on joining him because the dangers ahead are greater than he can imagine. Meanwhile, Mary Margaret discovers the fate of her old friend Lancelot. Back in Storybrooke, Arthur seeks David’s help to catch a thief who threatens the safety of the citizens of Camelot. Across town, Emma reaches out to a conflicted Hook as she sets about her plan to draw Excalibur from the stone.”

Tech Times has already shared the preview released for the next episode, and it shows Hook and Emma definitely sharing a moment. Emma wants something, and it appears she might be willing to use her love to get it for her.

She needs a hero to take Excalibur out of its stone. Is Hook the right man for the job? He has become quite the hero on the series. Emma does appear to step back a bit from her dark side in the clip. It is a battle between good and evil inside her as the season begins.

Jennifer Morrison teased a bit about Emma’s journey this season in a recent interview.

“There’s a similar journey for Emma, which is that once you’ve agreed to surrender to the Darkness and be the Dark One, that doesn’t mean that you’re consumed with it immediately. It means that it’s within you, and now there is the struggle between what was once you and how to reconcile that with the darkness that’s also within you at this point.”

While she battles the darkness inside her, Emma’s friends and family are battling to save her. In the Enchanted Forest, David will try to find a relic that will allow Regina to communicate with Merlin. Freeing him is needed to stop Emma’s transition.

Even though David and Mary Margaret are doing everything they can to help their daughter, she has shut them out once again. Adam Horowitz revealed this when he shared a photo featuring a script teaser for the next episode on his Twitter. Emma is not talking to her parents.

This always causes angst for Mary Margaret. She does not like being shut out. In the past on this series, she has revealed that she feels like she wasted enough time when it comes to Emma already. She did send her away for 28 years, after all.

Photos for the episode released by ABC and shared by Spoiler TV, do show off a lot of Emma Swan. The series is making her its complete focus this season. The Dark Swan arc will take the series through at least the first half of the season, and Once Upon A Time Episode 100 will start off the second half of the season, according to TV Line.

There does not seem to be an end in sight for the residents of Storybrooke. How will they save Emma from the darkness inside her? Fans will need to keep tuning in to find out.

Once Upon A Time will air its next episode on Sunday night on ABC.
