‘True Monsters’: History Channel Delves Into Cannibals, Killers, Gods, Devils, And Hell In New Paranormal TV Series


True Monsters is a terrifying new TV series that is slated to air on the History Channel. True Monsters will focus on petrifying stories of the past and present that have been passed down from generation to generation. History Channel viewers will have the opportunity to watch these monsters come to life through the re-creation of these supposedly true stories. The new show will feature several experts who will discuss the legends of monsters. Some experts that will appear on the show are author and writer Jonathan Mayberry, Dr. Brian Regal of Kean University, as well as Dale Yeager of Seraph–The Problem Solving Company. Watch as these experts go behind the legend to seek the truth of what inspired the stories while also examining how these legends or myths have evolved over time. The distinguished guests have researched the topics thoroughly and bring an extensive amount of expertise to the program.

History Channel’s True Monster entertains themes regarding paranormal activity. It is produced by Committee Films of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Andy and Maria Awes of Chaska executive produced the TV series. In popular culture, several documentaries have delved into the topic of monsters and the paranormal, such as Encounters With Monsters—Scariest Paranormal and Monsters, Mysteries, or Myths.

Since the beginning of time, humans have always been fascinated with the topic of monsters and the paranormal. A few books have also looked into the subject of monsters in-depth. Some of the books worth reading are American Monsters: A History of Monster Lore, Legends and Sightings in America by Linda S Godfrey. Another book that touches the subject is Legends, Monsters, or Serial Murders by Dirk C Gibson.

Founded in 2006, the headquarters for Committee Films is in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they currently have between 11 and 50 employees, according to their LinkedIn page. The broadcasting media company is a boutique company offering a range of services related to television documentaries, commercials, advertising, music videos, and digital print. Committee Films has had success in producing America Unearthed, Top of the World, Who Really Discovered America, Doubt, Medievil Desert Mystery, Silent, and In An Instant.

History Channel, which was formerly named The History Channel, was created in 1995. Since 2008, their programming has changed somewhat to include reality programming. The History Channel has aired several scientific-based programs that have garnered substantial criticism from experts. Despite this, almost 100 million people subscribe to the cable channel.

By the looks of the trailer, True Monsters is sure to entertain and terrify. A portion of the press release regarding History Channel’s True Monsters reads this way, according to The Chaska Herald.

The first True Monsters episode to be shown is Cannibals and Killers followed by Giants and Beasts, Devils and Hell, and Gods and Monsters.
