Nick Jonas Doesn’t Want To Work With Joe Jonas? Brothers Need To Do Their ‘Own Thing’

If you hadn’t heard, Nick Jonas is all grown up now, and he’s doing his own thing. That’s the way he wants to keep it.

Once upon a time, Nick Jonas was the little brother — the young afterthought when it came to the Jonas Brothers. Joe Jonas was the one all the young girls pined after, and he was the one expected to break out with the big time solo career.

Things have changed a bit in the years since. Sure, Joe Jonas has had a successful career of his own, but if you search the Jonas name on the internet these days your search results are likely to come back filled with stories of Nick Jonas’ music, Nick Jonas’ grown-up looks, and Nick Jonas’ acting career.

Nick Jonas hobnobs with the big names these days, and despite the fact that brother Joe Jonas introduced a new musical venture earlier this month, Nick Jonas is not in a hurry to collaborate with other brother, Joe. Joe Jonas’ new band is called DNCE, and the band released “Cake By The Ocean” last week.

In this stage in their careers, Nick told Entertainment Weekly that he believes it’s important for the brothers to do their own thing.

“As far as collaborations, I’m not sure (about working with Joe). It’s important for both of us to support each other and be excited for each other, but give each other that space as well to do our own thing. We’re both conscious of that. We want win together, even if it’s doing different projects.”

Of course, Nick Jonas extended plenty of support to Joe Jonas, going so far as to say that he believes Joe will “kill it” with his new rock-pop band.

In the same interview, Nick Jonas told Entertainment Weekly that he’s anticipating dropping a new album sometime in February or March of 2016. Nick said an exact date has not yet been set.

Regardless of when the album is released, Nick Jonas said that much of the material is likely to be similar to his recently released single, “Levels.” He told Entertainment Weekly,

“‘Levels’ is a good introduction to the next step. I think [the album will] go even a bit further with some more soul and R&B sounds, even hip hop influences in there. I’m really just digging deep.”

Digging deep without the help of his brother, apparently.

What do you think? Do you think Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas should work together again? Why or why not?
