Grant Bowler Cast Opposite Lindsay Lohan In ‘Liz And Dick’
Lifetime has found its Richard Burton. Grant Bowler will play Richard Burton in the new Lifetime movie, “Liz and Dick,” opposite Lindsay Lohan, who will be playing Elizabeth Taylor.
Bowler is 18-years-older than Lohan, but according to “Liz and Dick” producer Larry Thompson, the age difference is one of the things that makes their relationship so unique.
Thompson said:
“Richard Burton was quite older than Elizabeth Taylor. This is from a visual point of view just about equal to Liz and Dick. Visually speaking it is a perfect match.”
But Bowler and Lohan do more than just look like Taylor and Burton, according to Thompson, they also have amazing chemistry. Thompson added:
“We had seen him [Bowler] on tape and liked him but wanted to confirm the chemistry between the two. But this morning we had Lindsay and Grant come into a room at Lifetime and the chemistry exploded. It was just Fourth of July firecrackers going off in the room. We knew from the chemistry that Liz and Dick live again.”
‘Liz and Dick” will tell the story of Taylor’s relationship with Burton. The two were married, and divorced, twice. Thompson said that the movie will explore both the emotional, and physical relationship that Taylor and Burton had.
“Chemistry means movie magic for sex. This movie will definitely have as much sex as Lifetime will allow.”
Thompson said that Lohan and Bowler met this morning to read a few scenes. Filming on “Liz and Dick” is expected to start soon.
“They read three separate scenes from the movie. Their chairs were initially a bit apart but each scene they brought chairs closer. Arms brushed together. The scene didn’t require kissing. He [Bowler] brings enormous testosterone and sensitivity.”

You must be kidding me? Lindsay as the most gorgeous actress ever? And a consummate professional–unlike Lohan. Must have made a deal with the devil for this role. And the male lead is little better. Do these people casting this film even know what Liz and Richard looked like (and BTW–it is DEFINITELY NOT Dick!) Just one more movie I won't be seeing. Thank God these two are dead so they don't have to witness this fiasco. Hollywood–quickly sinking into the mud and slime and very soon, total obscurity. Surely, someone can come up with better ideas than what are coming out of that pit these days.

I don't think Lindsay can do this. They should have put her in a comedy. Elizabeth Taylor was always a class act. Also the guy playing Richard is wayyy to old. Richard was only 7 years older than Elizabeth, not 18. The only good thing is they won't be seeing it. Lindsay lost whatever it was she had as a teenager. Too much plastic surgery and her lips look awful. I don't hate her, but she doesn't look at all like Elizabeth. The should've gotten Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones. The fact that the producer is lauding the fact there there will be a lot of sex in the movie lets you know this will be a low rent production.
