Kim Richards’ Lawyer Claims Former ‘RHOBH’ Star Is Currently In A Program, Doing ‘Well’

Kim Richards is reportedly in a treatment program. Although there have been a number of contradictory reports regarding the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s current situation, her lawyer appeared in court on Thursday regarding her petty theft charge and revealed new details about her treatment.

According to an August 20 report by the New York Daily News, Kim Richards’ lawyer, Sarah Caplan, told a Los Angeles judge on Thursday she had a signed retainer letter from Kim Richards, as well as a letter “from the program she’s staying in.”

While Kim Richards’ case was discussed in court on Thursday, there were no changes made. Instead, the charge against Kim Richards will be revisited on September 11 in order to allow Caplan time to review the police report and surveillance of her client’s alleged crime.

“[Kim Richards]’s doing well. I’m not going to discuss any details of her treatment, but she’s doing well.”

The case against Kim Richards stems from her shoplifting arrest on August 2, during which the former reality star was accused of stealing more than 100 items valued at $612 from a Target store in Van Nuys, California.

The New York Daily News revealed Kim Richards has pleaded not guilty to both the petty charge for shoplifting and charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest, and battery, which stem from her April 16 arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kim Richards’ ex-husband has come to her defense in the weeks since her latest arrest, telling fans on Instagram that 90 percent of the reports made in regard to Kim Richards are not true.

“Personally I have not seen [Kim Richards] but we speak everyday. Do I know everything absolutely. Do I take up for my family and friends absolutely. Do I say it like it is. Absolutely. Is my heart filled with love for everyone absolutely. Without going into detail 90 per-cent of what you read is completely false. But for her fans that have stayed with her through this roller coaster will see her very soon at what she’s done best all her life since the age of 4. I’m excited for her. And personally I would like to thank everyone who stood by her through this rough time. Remember everyone in life goes through a rough time one way or another. I always say know the facts before being judgmental.”

Kim Richards is not expected to return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Season 6. Following her arrests and relapse, Bravo is said to have given her the axe.
