WWE News: Backstage Update On WWE NXT Divas And WWE Battleground Original Plans

In the past 48 hours, women’s wrestling has improved immensely. Normally on a pay-per-view, the WWE gives the women about eight minutes for a decent match.

Out of the last WWE Network events, only a few Divas matches were actually worth watching. That’s no disrespect to the WWE Divas, but they were not given a chance.

Now, it appears that the WWE is finally behind the women and the WWE Universe is supporting this enigmatic change. On WWE.com, they asked the WWE Universe what impact the WWE NXT Divas will have on the main roster.

It would have been difficult to predict the impact they’ve already made. At WWE Battleground, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Brie Bella wrestled a triple threat match and it was excellent. Even Brie, who gets a negative stigma for her wrestling work, excelled with Banks and Charlotte.

Even though Charlotte won, that wasn’t the original plan. According to Daily Wrestling News, at one point, the former-WWE NXT champion wasn’t the original winner at WWE Battleground.

“On a related note, WWE officials went back and forth in the hours leading up to Sunday’s Battleground pay-per-view on which Diva would win the Triple Threat – Brie Bella, Sasha Banks or Charlotte. At one point they had Brie winning the match but obviously ended up going with Charlotte.”

The WWE NXT Divas Revolution wasn’t a spontaneous act. It’s been planned for several months now, as Stephanie McMahon and Triple H wanted the women to be highlighted in WWE programming.

As it’s stated in the report, “For several months now there has been a big push within WWE for the company to embrace stronger female performers and to embrace better wrestling for the Divas division, as opposed to making the division all about drama and being sexy.”

If Triple H is as invested in this storyline as he is with WWE NXT, then the Divas Revolution isn’t going anywhere. In fact, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks will become Divas champions sooner, rather than later. What they are able to do is very impressive, as Charlotte made Brie Bella look very good in their match on WWE Raw.

Brie was never a bad wrestler, but someone with the innate skill and ability like Charlotte really pushed her to new heights. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, the match at WWE Battleground was rumored before the pay-per-view started. During the night, when the NXT women appeared on screen, the WWE Universe popped for the new stars. After WWE Raw, this revolution is not over and the WWE fans approve.
