If you saw WWE RAW this past week, you had the opportunity to see the WWE NXT Divas have a major role on the show. Essentially, they are no longer NXT Divas but rather just WWE Divas. However, fans have not seen them all perform in multiple matches yet, so they still feel like NXT Divas to many. Many feel that the new ladies will have quite a role on the main roster, as they have done with NXT.
We will have to see what comes of it, but the cool part is that both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are in favor of change for the Diva’s Division . That said, it is planned for the Divas to get more creative ideas thrown their way and potentially be used like the guys, at least for a little while. WWE does not want to give up on the move right now because there is a feeling that a change is needed. So the idea is that if they do well, WWE will only continue allowing the girls more time or various segments across their variety of shows.
If the WWE Divas fail to live up to expectations, we can assume WWE will have the same ordeal if did before with the ladies.
The first step to change could be at WWE Battleground .
According to Daily Wrestling News , there are plans to use the new divas in a match of some sort on the show tonight. It is not yet known exactly what WWE is planning, but since Nikki Bella does not have a Diva’s Championship match on the show, we could very well see her defend it against one of the NXT girls. Charlotte seems to be the most likely candidate. However, all three NXT girls are in St. Louis for the show.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is in town for the event, which makes one think that Charlotte could be wrestling just by his presence alone.
WWE has to fill out time now that they have removed the Intercontinental Championship match from the event. Ryback, IC Champ, is out due to a staph infection. It is expected that he will defend the IC Title at WWE SummerSlam , but he will not appear at WWE Battleground . There was a theory that Big Show vs. The Miz could still happen even without the IC Title on the line. However, WWE has confirmed this will not occur.
That said, it would make sense for WWE to fill this time with a WWE Divas match. They could put a lot of time into it, which would allow for everyone to see the skills of the new ladies as well as those who have been around for a while who have not had the time to show what they have. We will have to see what they will do, but it looks to be confirmed that the WWE Divas will have a role on the show.
