Amy Reimann: Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Wife-To-Be Joining Him In Marriage And On The Race Track

Amy Reimann will soon be joining Dale Earnhardt Jr. in marriage, but there’s another place the NASCAR driver may be trying to get his soon-to-be wife to join him — on the race track.

This week Earnhardt popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, who over the course of the the long relationship has begun to embrace racing in the same away as her NASCAR husband-to-be.

Before they got engaged, Reimann took part in the Better Half Dash charity race, which featured NASCAR wives and girlfriends. Reimann said Earnhardt was quite persistent about her taking part.

“I’m about as green as it gets, so I need a little bit of practice, but I hope we’re competitive and I hope we get the trophy. Dale talked me into it. It was offered to me by Kelley (Earnhardt Miller, Junior’s sister). And I didn’t really know what the Better Half Dash was, to be honest. I mentioned it to Dale and he said, ‘Yeah, you’ve got to do it. You’ve got to do it. It’s going to be so much fun.'”

There may be a lot more chances for Reimann to take part in the annual race for significant others, and her future husband overcame a lot to make it that way. Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently explained to Dan Patrick (via Fox Sports) that he had a bizarre phobia that made engagement difficult.

“I have a phobia that nobody knows about. I have a jewelry phobia. I know it sounds crazy, but that’s been the biggest holdup for me getting engaged or getting married.”

But Dale Earnhardt Jr. also dropped hints that marriage was on the way. In the interview with Dan Patrick, the NASCAR driver explained that the couple was headed toward a marriage proposal.

“[We’re] not [engaged] yet. Me and Amy are doing great, though, and we’re heading in the right direction. … If I want to get engaged, I don’t want to spoil the surprise on Dan Patrick’s radio show. … It’s not the time. The timing’s not right.”

The timing is apparently much better now. On Wednesday the NASCAR driver announced that he had popped the question.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Amy Reimann have not yet announced a wedding date, but it’s likely that Reimann has a date with the race track in the near future as well. This year’s Better Half Dash is scheduled for October.
