Queen Elizabeth II Meets Princess Charlotte

The Queen has met Princess Charlotte at last. Her Royal Majesty has now seen her great granddaughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

The newest member of the Royal Family, born on May 2 and weighing in at 8 lbs, 3 oz, is fourth in line to the throne of England, so a lot is riding on little Charlotte before she has even learned how to spell “tea.”

According to the documentation, now officially signed by the Duke of Cambridge and witnessed by a registrar from Westminster Register Office, Charlotte’s official full name has been given as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.

The Queen and other senior royals of the Buckingham Palace were told the name before it was registered, according to BBC News.

Charlotte is the feminine form of Charles, Elizabeth is the name of the Queen herself, and Diana is the name of England’s lost Princess, may she rest in peace. The baby’s name is very traditional, as is the norm in the Royal Family.

The 89-year-old British Monarch, Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, has met Princess Charlotte as of today. The reason she missed her great granddaughter’s birth was due to a royal engagement in Yorkshire. According to People Magazine, Queen Elizabeth II wore a hot pink ensemble, possibly to mark the occasion of the birth of the newest Princess.

Among the first to see Princess Charlotte on Sunday were her grandparents Carole and Mike Middleton, Prince Charles, and Camilla. After this historic meeting, it is believed that Duke and Duchess William and Kate and their children will return to their country home of Amner Hall, a 10-bedroom mansion north of London.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a lot of growing up to do under the pressure of their birthright.
