There was already enough Mass Effect 3 controversy surrounding the day-one DLC ‘From Ashes‘, but BioWare is getting even more heat for the game’s ending, which quite a number of people consider to be.. disappointing, to put it mildly.
In an effort to quell concerns from its fanbase, BioWare took to the company’s official forums to assure fans that the developers are listening, but the company plans to avoid addressing the matter until more people have had the opportunity to finish the game.
“We appreciate everyone’s feedback about Mass Effect 3 and want you to know that we are listening,” BioWare community manager Chris Priestly wrote on the BioWare forums.
“Active discussions about the ending are more than welcome here, and the team will be reviewing it for feedback and responding when we can. Please note, we want to give people time to experience the game so while we can’t get into specifics right now, we will be able to address some of your questions once more people have had time to complete the game.
“In the meantime, we’d like to ask that you keep the non-spoiler areas of our forums and our social media channels spoiler free. We understand there is a lot of debate on the Mass Effect 3 ending and we will be more than happy to engage in healthy discussions once more people get to experience the game. We are listening to all of your feedback.”
Without spoiling anything for those who have yet to finish the game, what did you think of Mass Effect 3‘s ending?

So far, the ending made me stop playing ME3 for a week. If I had a way to refund my collectors edition on the PC I would.
If you pay an extra three dollars for 'Final Hours' you can see what a bunch of bumbling idiots the bioware team was when it came to creating the ending.
I have only justs finished the game then and came online straight away to see what the alternate endings were, as I was less then impressed with mine, I was pretty upset when I figured out there is no real difference in any of them. All the long hours of doing everyside mission and retrieving artifacts, even getting 100% on multiplayer didn't really make a difference at all. As much as I love this game, the bad ending makes it have no replay value at all, and I'm seriously considering returning my copy of the game as its something I doubt I would ever play again. -unless they were to do a proper ending-
None of the endings I feel fit the game or my decisions in the game. It does not even feel like shepard in the end… Be that his state could play some effect there but that would be a cop out. The ending ruined the rest of the game for me. The whole game up to that point had my heart pounding and excited and then the last wait maybe 10 mins I was sickened enough to not pick up the game sense.
OK Joe.. we get it you didn't like the ending… Now will you quit posting EVERY DAY about how you hate the ending… some of us haven't played it yet and are tired of seeing you bitch about the game we just spent $60 on…
What I think of the ending (with out giving it away for others), is that your brainwashing for the masses as back fired on you big time, You got everyone attached to the characters , this gives them a scene of relationship , then right at the end you push your views down on what people must/should think about A.I (Artificial intelligences) and other morals of life in general ( which has nothing to do with Shepperd? ). Why Bioware did you do this? was it that you got pressured by higher people funding the game? Or has this been in the works form the start? I see the end for what it really is.. mind control with a big FAIL sign.
Other then that I was enjoying every minute of the game until the last 10 minutes. You gave everyone choice through out the trilogy then you took it away right at the end, You wrote a master piece of gaming and then did this at the end WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING?
Still all this said I still like the game but I will not be watching or playing the end of the game every again.. thanks for hearing my opinion.
P.S I hope you make a DLC to delete this ending and give everyone the ending people want. Shepperd wins! if you get him/her level up high enough and Shepperd dies if you don't, middle ground Shepperd dies but saves everyone.. I'v think I'v said enough.. Thanks Bioware for a great set of games , No thanks when it comes to last 10 minutes.

Ditto Shawn. Sadly I have to hear this from coworkers and friends. My reply has always been "the ending of trilogies always suck. Look at star wars, the matrix, LotR movies, etc. Stop bitching."
Many people considered the ending to be a hands-down ship-to-ship battle with the reapers. Instead, I get slapped in the face with this. and the worst part? I havnt completed the game myself and after hearing about the ending, I don't want to.
Wtf! I just finished the game, what a punch in the groin this was.who wrote this ending?George Lucas?
Overall the game itself was great. The story, the dialog and especially the emotion behind the characters was both amazing and fantastic. But the ending… did NOT live up to it's expectations. I relished every moment of ME3 up until the last five minutes. And despite the promise that all questions would be answered, the ending has not lived up to that.
Unbelievable this really makes me upset, what person in there right mind thought this ending was a good idea. The whole series is basically pointless. I can't even express how disappointed I am. WHAT WERE U THINKING? I love playing through Mass Effect games more than once but after this ending I'm not playing this ever again. I don't know if there is a fix here, but I hope you come up with something, seriously disappointed.
I feel the same as many others, the game was great up until the last couple moments. All of the choices were bogus. There was hardly a visual difference between them. All of them pretty much were out of left field and had such huge gaping plot holes its ridiculous. The answer we get back is pretty much the same song and dance as Dragon Age 2(which was an all around mess anyhow, including the ending which was similar in that there was no choice).. but instead of saying how surprised they were that things were polarized like with DA2.. its now, that they meant to do it to "get people to talk about it". How about getting us talking about how great the game was and how much replay value it would have had? Is something being know as an outstanding game no longer a goal?
I will say this.. I won't demand a different ending and feel only entitled to what they promised on interviews regarding the ending, which they did not deliver on(shame on them). What I do feel is very disappointed they went this route and brought no real closure to the series(unless wrecking the universe you just united counts). The ending just leaves more questions then answers and is a crappy way to possibly finish things up. As always there is to much money in the series ala Halo, to end it.. so I think it will continue in some form anyhow, but now with a heck of a mess to clean up plot-wise. The again after that ending I doubt plot holes mean much to them as that abomination made it past editing.
The ending was just… disappointing. I loved the story, the emotion, the characters, and became emotionally invested in the story of this trilogy, and the ending came nowhere close to living up to the precedent they themselves set with such an enthralling tale. Throughout the entire game my heart was pounding, the emotions were strong, and I couldn't wait to see how all the decisions I made turned out. Then, the last 10 minutes happened and I wasn't even sure it was still Mass Effect. And apparently, not a Damn one of my decisions mattered. I loved this series, all I ask is for a little closure to my time, monetary, and most importantly, emotional investment.
It was not so much the plot that bugged me but the lack of emotion and closure. I wanted to see aria leading her troops in to battle and see Kaiden crumble to the ground at the realization of my fate. Wanted to see my shep remembering his friends and allies. I wanted to cry at the end but I just felt dead.
