Prometheus star Charlize Theron made a shocking announcement Wednesday that she had adopted a baby boy! Now, new details are emerging about the 36-year-old actress’ new son, Jackson.
Us Weekly reports that baby Jackson is an African-American child, whom the star adopted stateside.
”This just came up again a few months ago [when] the baby became available,” a source tells the magazine.
“[She] is ecstatic about finally becoming a mom,” another inside source revealed to People to, adding Charlize “has been very patient and has a great attitude.”
Apparently Charlize has been trying to adopt for years.
While Theron – who has been single since splitting from boyfriend Stuart Townsend in 2010 – is perfectly content being a single mother, she is getting help raising the youngster from her own mom Gerda.
The source said: “Charlize’s mom has been helping out with the baby. She seems so happy and will be a great mom.”
Besides having her hands full with a new youngster, Theron has also been extremely busy in her film career.
In addition to her upcoming Sci-Fi thriller flick Prometheus, which hits theaters on June 8th, Charlize will also star opposite Kristen Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman (In theaters on June 1). The trailers for both films can be seen below.
