Kylie Jenner Blackface Calm: Kylie Defends Darker Skin In New Photos, Tells People To ‘Calm Down’

Kylie Jenner faced some blackface backlash by telling people to “calm down.” According to People Magazine, the 17-year-old reality star took to her Instagram page to post a response to people who called her out for allegedly putting on blackface. The youngest Jenner was quick to react to the claims, saying that it was simply the lighting that made her skin look dark.

It all started when Kylie posted a picture from a new photoshoot. The picture showed a usually pale Jenner with extremely bronzed skin, and many thought that she had put on blackface for the shoot. Kylie deleted the picture after noticing the comments, but she soon posted two more and defended herself. She says that the lighting used in the shoot caused her skin to appear darker.

Kylie Jenner told blackface accusers to “calm down,” and then posted the additional photos from the shoot that she did, clearly not letting people deter her from sharing her work. She seems extremely proud of these pictures, and doesn’t have any intention of letting anyone bring her down, as evidenced by her follow-up messages.

According to Yahoo! News, Kylie posted a few tweets to further explain her highly-stylized pictures.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, plenty of fans came to Jenner’s defense on social media. Many people realized that Kylie’s skin was more pink than anything else, and that she was channeling a metallic alien before anything else. People even compared the photos to what Katy Perry did in the video for E.T. Even still, there are plenty of people out there that feel as though Jenner took a chance with these pictures, and there were several people who were offended by them.

Do you think Kylie Jenner’s pics walked the blackface line? Should people calm down as Kylie suggests, or do you think that people have a right to be offended? Did the pictures bother you?
