President Barack Obama was a surprise visitor to a theWizards, Chicago Bulls game Friday night. The President arrived just before the start of the match, sitting in a standard seat among some very surprised Wizards fans.
As the game progressed, the President even purchased a beer, which naturally he was pictured drinking. Nothing out of the ordinary so far, with the President enjoying a beer and game like millions of other Americans do.
But the audacity of the President drinking beer and having an hour off on a Friday night! The nerve! We’ll that’s what some talkback radio callers thought.
“People are losing 5, 10, 20 thousand dollars a day in the stock market, and he’s sitting there drinking a beer!” a caller told WWL. “It’s insulting… there’s a lot of people suffering.” The caller insisted President Obama should not publicly have fun during a time of so much pain.
Another caller was upset about Obama drinking beer. “The president is the president 24 hours a day. I don’t think he should drink on the job.”
Oh, did I mention the criticism came exclusively from women callers?
The male callers took a different view:
“That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard in my life,” one man said in response to the first woman caller. “He didn’t mess up the country, first of all… let’s be real now. A man’s gotta take some down time.”
“She needs to get a life,” another called responded. “We all need to lighten up.”
Another man said, “Aww heck, you know, ain’t nothin’ wrong with it. He’s takin’ a little break, knockin’ him down a cold one.”

* Obama may be skinny, but I don't think he's such a lightweight that one or two beers is going to impair him very much. Let alone, if Winston Churchill could drink as much as *he* did…
* I'd rather have a chief exec of the country who relaxes from time than one who burns out.
* Every other person in that arena was “having fun in a time of crisis.” I don't know about you, but it seems to me Obama has a much more common touch, and is much less out of step with everyday Americans, when he does things so many other Americans do. Of course, there's always been a segment of the country who are monarchists at heart, so it may well be that he's *too* common for their tastes. I invite them to move to a country that actually has a monarchy, if that's what they're after.

First of all, history has already shown what happens to this country in the ABSENCE of alcohol, so let the man have a beer. Second, it's not like he's getting shit-faced and drunk dialing on the redline. So let the man have a beer! And to top it off, I work in the beer industry, so as far as I'm concerned, he IS working on the economy. I can not believe there are actually people in this country who would actually be offended by this. GET A F!@#ING LIFE!!!

President Obama is human just like all of us. He's inherited a heavy load as most of have and are carrying now, he deserves to unwind as all of us do. Only God works 24 hours 7 days a week. President Obama is not PERFECT people, so cut this MAN a break!
Maybe former Pres. Bush should have had a cold one then we wouldn't be in this HOT MESS!!!

Of course, I gotta note upfront that I'm no Obama groupie or anything, but he does bring a certain coolness to the presidency game, with that black sweater, beer and all… lol

I agree…he didnt screw this Country up …he's doing his best to fix what this Country and other leaders have gotten it into. Give the man a break and get off this racist kick. Let's face it…we wouldnt be so critical if the man were white now would we? Let's all get the behind the President and support him and pray that this country gets turned around, but let's not rememeber it didnt get this way in 50 days and it sure as hell wont get fixed that quick either!!!!

I am an Obama fan. As long as he knows his limit. You don't want a world crises to arise and he can't decide what button to push. Let me see, was it the blue one, the red one, or was it the one on the wall? Michelle!

I'm sorry but they man is only “human!” Those who have a problem with him taking down a cold one and having a day off need to have a reality check. The man is human…not a machine. With what Bush did to this country…and Obama having to repair the damage…hell, he deserves a keg! The man is our President…not God!

Seriously…people are griping about a man drinking a beer? He does live in the USA…beer and games go hand in hand. He's our president not GOD! Give the man a break and let him enjoy a good beer and a game.
