‘Once Upon A Time’ Spoilers: Blackbeard And Prince Hans Return [Photos]
Once Upon a Time is returning this Sunday, and the Snow Queen’s sinister Spell of Shattered Sight is coming with it.
However, viewers have a lot more to look forward to than the effects of Storybrooke’s latest curse. According to TV Line, this week’s episode of Once Upon a Time is going to feature the return of two minor villains: Blackbeard the pirate and Anna’s old beau, Prince Hans. Set photos from “Fall” show Anna and Kristoff being held captive on Blackbeard’s ship, and it looks like the pirate might be under the employ of Prince Hans. But how did Anna and Kristoff get thawed out after the Snow Queen froze all of Arendelle?
One Once Upon a Time set photo shows Blackbeard and Prince Hans standing in front of a giant chest. The Inquisitr previously shared a video of Anna and Kristoff washing up on the shore of Storybrooke in a huge wooden box. It’s possible that Prince Hans and Blackbeard locked the couple inside the chest and threw them overboard, but it would be impossible for Anna and Kristoff to make it to Storybrooke in the chest without a little help.
Ariel could have something to do with their safe passage, or perhaps sea goddess Ursula will play a part in their journey. The Inquisitr previously reported that Ursula and Cruella de Vil will team up with Maleficent during the second half of the season. Showrunner Edward Kitsis told TV Guide that the end of the Disney’s Frozen arc is connected to the next arc, and it’s possible that Ursula will link the two storylines.
“The arc will come to an end and the Snow Queen is dealt with, but something surprising rears its head in the aftermath of this story, and it takes us right into our next arc. It’s our favorite twist yet.”
While Anna and Kristoff are trying to survive their encounter with Blackbeard and Prince Hans, everyone else in Storybrooke will be preparing for the Snow Queen’s Spell of Shattered Sight. Kitsis explained what will happen after the Snow Queen succeeds in casting the curse.
“This is a rage curse — fun and scary at the same time —that can bring out the worst in everyone. If it isn’t stopped, it will make our characters turn on each other in horrible ways.”
As you can see from the Once Upon a Time set photos below, there will be some very emotional reactions to the coming of the curse. Captain Swan and Outlaw Queen obviously realize that the spell could ruin their relationships.
Luckily, Emma and Elsa are under the Snow Queen’s protection — they just might be able to save the town from their psycho “sister.”

“As the Spell of Shattered Sight approaches Storybrooke, Mary Margaret and David rally the residents to prepare for the curse while Belle and the fairies work together on an antidote. Gold, with Hook as his reluctant servant, sets about an exit strategy of his own. Regina and Robin Hood ready themselves for the worst while, with the help of a locator spell, Emma and Elsa search desperately for Anna. In Arendelle, Anna and Kristoff awaken to find that their kingdom is once again in danger.”
Once Upon a Time airs Sunday, November 30 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
