Justin Bieber’s Childhood Home Is Up For Sale, Got $280,000 To Spare?

Justin Bieber’s childhood home is up for sale.

The price? A modest price tag of $279.000 Canadian dollars, which is roughly $248,000 U.S.

Cheap at the price for a slice of pop history, especially if you’re a Bieber fan.

Naturally, the house is being marketed as where Bieber grew up. But the idol-in-waiting’s then Stratford, Ontario home actually belongs to his maternal grandmother.

Re/Max realtor Maria Walsh told CNN, “It’s a typical grandma house, with a room that’s for him.”

Walsh went on, “He didn’t live there full-time. He stayed there. When they moved out, they didn’t take their furniture with them. It’s the same furniture as when Justin came there.”

Photos on Re/Max’s site show the bedroom Bieber once slept in has been left exactly as it was, right down to the Toronto Maple Leafs wallpaper, posters and playthings. All of which is seems a fairly standard thing that the relatives of stars to do.

TMZ reports Bieber spent “80% of his childhood” at his grandparents’ three-bedroom, two-bathroom bungalow, and that the property is worth less than the listing price.

The site claims the elderly couple are hoping a “wealthy Belieber” will buy it because of its connection to the star.

Justin’s grandparents, Bruce and Diane Dale — who is the mother of Bieber’s mom Pattie Mallette — no longer live at the bungalow, as their grandson bought them another property just outside of town, according to The National Post.

In a somewhat tongue-in-cheek post by Vanity Fair’s, Richard Lawson, he writes, “wanting to own some piece of a very current catastrophe, finding some grim pleasure in holding a piece of the problem in your hands, that’s a pretty ghoulish proposition.”

Strong words. But, while Bieber’s hardly death penalty legal charges and string of exploits certainly warrant pause for thought, in fact the singer is reportedly making major changes in his life following his breakup with on-off girlfriend Selena Gomez.

According to TMZ, the 20-year-old is currently staying in Rancho Mirage, just outside Palm Springs, and is set to receive religious guidance from longtime friend pastor Carl Lentz of the Hillsong NYC Church.

Over the weekend, Justin was also spotted in the area with pal, pastor Judah Smith of the Seattle-based The City Church.

According to the site, Carl — who allegedly baptized the singer back in May — will instruct Justin at a kind of church camp.

It’s said the “Confident” singer has cut out distractions and his hard-partying lifestyle.

“Justin has exiled himself from friends, alcohol, weed and everything else that doesn’t involve the good Lord,” TMZ writes.

So, in spite of dire predictions it looks like Bieber is making is positive changes.

And Stratford, Ontario (although Justin was born in London, Ontario), is where the singer’s journey began.
