Sasha Grey is a woman of many talents. The former porn star recently participated in the “Read Across America” program at a school in California. But Grey wasn’t commended for her charity work, she was condemned. Parents at the elementary school were less than enthused that Grey was reading to their children.
Grey, who has starred in several adult films like Throat: A Cautionary Tale and Babysitters, announced that she was retiring from porn earlier this year. The former adult actress landed a running gig playing herself in the final season of HBO’s Entourage, and has recently appeared in movies like I Melt With You with Rob Lowe and Skinny Dip with Danny Trejo.
Grey was aware that her involvement with “Read Across America” would cause some people to be uncomfortable, but Grey said that she is not going to hide her past.
Grey said:
“I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent. I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am. I will not live in fear of it.”
