David Kalac: 4chan Murder Suspect Believed To Be In Portland, Schools Locked Down

David Kalac is being sought by police in Portland after authorities say he strangled a Port Orchard, Washington, woman to death and then posted pictures of her body onto the image-sharing site 4chan.

The Portland police said on Twitter that they have reason to believe Kalac is in the area.

Portland police said they spotted Kalac in the city, but he escaped after a car chase.

“At approximately 1:15 a.m., Central Precinct officers spotted the suspect vehicle, a gold 2001 Ford Focus 4-door at Southeast 9th Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

“Officers initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle but the driver sped away and led police on a high-speed pursuit across the Ross Island Bridge and southbound on Southwest Barbur Boulevard. At approximately Southwest 30th Avenue, the pursuit was terminated as the driver of the suspect vehicle was swerving into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was last seen speeding southbound on Barbur Boulevard passing Taylors Ferry Road.”

On Tuesday afternoon, a 4chan user posted pictures of the dead woman and what appeared to be a description of her murder.

“Turns out it’s way harder to strangle someone to death than it looks in the movies,” the first post read.

When other users questioned whether the body was real, the 4chan murder suspect identified as David Kalac gave specifics of where the crime took place.

“Check the news in Port Orchard, Washington in a few hours. Her son will be home from school soon. He’ll find her and then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me.”

The warnings turned out to be very real. Just hours later, the Port Orchard Independent reported that police found the body of a woman in her early 30s, who they said was found by a family member.

“It’s a suspicious death and appears to be a homicide,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Scott Wilson said.

The 4chan user shared that he planned to confront police and force them to kill him.

“I bought a BB gun that looks realistic enough,” the user wrote. “When they come, I’ll pull it and it will be suicide by cop. I understand the doubts. Just check the f****** news. I have to lose my phone now.”

As Portland police searched for suspected 4chan killer David Kalac, a number of schools in the area were briefly placed on lockdown.
