For those of you following the epic Michaele Salahi kidnap saga, grab another tub of popcorn and settle in, the show has taken an even stranger turn.
Just hours after the “Real Housewives of D.C.” star’s husband Tareq Salahi reported to authorities that she had been kidnapped from her home, it’s now being reported that she’s alive and well — in Memphis with Journey guitarist Neal Schon.
“Nobody kidnapped her and [Schon and Michaele] are in Memphis,” a spokesperson for Journey told TMZ.
According to police, Michaele was supposed to be home in Northern Virginia on Wednesday, but the night before she had called her husband, from an Oregon area code.
Mr. Salahi, who with his wife rose to reality TV notoriety after they crashed a White House dinner party in 2009, issued his own statement to TMZ.
In it, he stated his wife had called him but that she might be “held under duress and forced to tell persons, including authorities she is okay.”
While it seems the kidnapping mystery is now all cleared up, The Warren County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying they were still working with the FBI to make “additional contact with Mrs. Salahi.”
Is this the end of the Tareq and Michaele Salahi love story? Or just another darn publicity stunt?
