A Sweet Escape: Online Retailer Comes Up With 9.4 Million-Calorie Chocolate Bathroom

If you love chocolate and have a thing for extravagant bathrooms, then Bathroom Sweet’s Maderno Bathroom Suite just might be what you are looking for—that is, if you have $133,000 to spare.

The online retailer partnered with the chocolatiers at Choccywoccydoodah to come up with a bathroom set made entirely out of Belgian chocolate. The bathroom suite consists of a full-size bath, a bidet, a basin, and a toilet with 9.4 million calories altogether. However, the items can be bought individually.

The idea of coming up with a chocolate bathroom suite came from people searching for bathrooms suites online, believe it or not, Ian Monk, CEO at Bathrooms.com said.

“When you work with bathrooms, you have to have a sense of humour about it all. And one thing really got us giggling at Bathrooms.com, that was when we realized that over a million British people searching for new bathrooms were popping ‘bathroom sweets’, rather than ‘bathroom suites’ into their preferred search engines.”

Based on a research conducted by the Plain English Campaign, misspelling “suites” as “sweets” is the third most common spelling error. Plain English Campaign’s media officer Steve Jenner said that it is common for words to be misspelled if they spell phonetically.

“People often spell phonetically if they are unsure of the correct spelling of a word and the confusion between ‘suites’ and ‘sweets’ highlights this. There are quite a phew of them, and the mane thing hear is to bare in mind that genuine miss steaks are easily maid.”

The company then decided to answer the search literally by creating bathroom items made of 100 percent Belgian chocolate. According to 7 Online, the bathroom suite is made of 88 pounds of chocolate and it has a 6-month shelf life.

When Choccywoccydoodah was called upon for the unique project, they couldn’t say no. The company is known for creating one-of-a-kind chocolate pieces, but they have never created a bathroom out of chocolate.

According to a spokesperson from Bathroom.com, they have had several inquiries for the chocolate suite, particularly for the bathtub, which alone has 8 million calories and can be bought for around $83,000. The company, however, warns that buyers shouldn’t use the suite.

“It will melt if it comes in contact with direct sunlight, radiator heat, or hot liquids—so it’s not ideal for running that relaxing bath!”

The Maderno Bathroom Suite can be ordered online and is available for worldwide shipping.
