Wiz Khalifa Unveils ‘Blacc Hollywood’ Trailer [Video]

Wiz Khalifa is just days away from dropping his long-awaited album Blacc Hollywood on the masses. To make sure everyone on the planet is ready to consume the new tracks, Khalifa recently unveiled a trailer for the record online.

Once upon a time, only movies had trailers. Now just about anything that falls under the umbrella of entertainment gets its very own promotional clip. Comic books, novels, video games — you name it. Even sex toys have trailers. Welcome to the modern age, folks.

According to Rap-Up, Wiz Khalifa put together a trailer for Blacc Hollywood that describes how the project came together. The rapper explains that he drew inspiration from the 80s and the DIY attitude of the decade’s punk rock scene.

Khalifa explains in the clip:

“A lot of the music that I’m inspired by is kids who are doing it on their own and low quality videos. You take me, who’s like a huge superstar to a lot of people, and I dumb it down and I minimize everything. I lower my quality, but the thought process and the art is still there.”

So, what sort of songs can fans expect from Wiz Khalifa’s new album? During his chat with the Post-Gazette, the rapper said that some of the track’s found on Blacc Hollywood display his musical maturity. Since Wiz is getting older, the subjects he chooses to tackle are a little different than those on previous endeavors.

Khalifa told the publication:

“All the songs are very strong and it’s to the point, and that was my mind state and what I wanted to do going into the album. I wanted to make it short and sweet and to the point and really accomplish big records that stand out and that stick around forever. And I feel like ‘Blacc Hollywood’ is full of that, and it conveys the attitude and the message of freedom and creativity that I’m trying to get across, so just thinking about classics like a Michael Jackson album or a Prince album or something like that, that’s what I modeled ‘Blacc Hollywood’ after.”

If you simply cannot wait to get your hands (and ears) on the new album, then you can satisfy your craving for Wiz Khalifa-crafted content by checking out his 28 Grams mixtape. The tracks are embedded below for your auditory pleasure.
