Is A ‘Single Mom’ Beyoncé More Popular – And Powerful – Than A ‘Married Mom’ Beyoncé?

Now that the marriage of Beyoncé and Jay-Z seems officially on the rocks, and after reports yesterday, including those from the Inquisitr – that Beyoncé is out looking for a new apartment for herself and her daughter, Blue Ivy, what does the fallout look like for each of them after the split?

Even though Beyoncé and Jay-Z are probably the most famous entertainers in the world at the moment, a new report form the New York Daily News says that Beyoncé’s star could rise even higher post-separation.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé enjoy a power only attained by the likes of Oprah Winfrey and the Obamas. That level of power doesn’t dissipate over night.

Experts say that the powerful couple’s status won’t suffer by any means from the split as none of their endorsement deals depend on their relationship – unlike their current $100 million On the Run tour. Both Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s businesses and endorsements were up and running full tilt before they were married, and they’re very likely to continue if their handcrafted image of the first family of hip-hop comes to an end.

Ryan Schinman, CEO of Platinum Rye Entertainment said of the couple’s business arrangments:

“Jay’s deals were Jay’s deals, and Beyoncé’s deals were Beyoncé’s deals, and there was very little overlap besides the tour.”

However, speculation is that Beyoncé’s star will shine the greatest post-split, especially if Jay’s infidelity is the reason behind the separation.

An expert cited by the New York Daily News as a “crisis coach” who has helped other celebrities post-split, says that Beyoncé’s popularity will skyrocket when she adds “single mom” to her repertoire.

“She is going to be the most powerful woman in the world, hanging out with Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey and Blue Ivy and talking about being a single mom. The goddess suddenly becomes even more relatable to women everywhere.”

But only if Beyoncé gets out as soon as the On the Run tour is finished. A majority of the reported $100 million Jay and Beyoncé are making off of the tour was paid to the couple upfront according to Hip-Hop Wired, and as such, the duo are being business-smart by playing the happy couple for the duration of the tour. However, when it’s over, experts say that getting out of the marriage quickly will benefit Beyoncé.

About that, the crisis coach said, “Her brand is all about being fierce and being a strong woman and not needing a man to make her happy. But if more cheating rumors come out, and she looks like she is standing by her man, that might hurt her more, professionally, than leaving him.”

As to either Jay or Beyoncé tarnishing the other’s brand after the split, experts say that neither has reason to do so. They’re both fabulously wealthy independently, so neither has a financial reason to write a tell-all book or do a Barbara Walters-style sit down interview. Chances are, both will let sleeping dogs lie – so to speak – as not to rock the enormously profitable financial boat.
