Ed Sheeran Opens Up About His ‘Random Experience’ With Usher

Ed Sheeran nonchalantly mentioned that he recently recorded a song with Usher.

Meeting famous people and doing amazing things with them is apparently a routine part of the singer’s life. If Sheeran isn’t helping former Friends cast members with their love lives, he’s recording songs with people most of us can only dream of meeting. That’s just the way this songwriter rolls these days.

During his recent chat with BBC Radio 1, Ed Sheeran casually spilled some details about his “random experience” with Usher. In addition to laying the groundwork for what is likely a very fruitful friendship, Sheeran said he also recorded a tune with the singer. Is there anyone this guy isn’t working with in the studio?

Ed Sheeran said of his encounter with Usher:

“I was at a Passover dinner and sat next to Usher, it was quite random. I met him once before, but never enough to be like ‘Yo what’s up man?’ but he went over to me with his phone and he’s like ‘Yo check it out’ and he downloaded ‘Sing,’ And he was like ‘Yo, man, do you want to get in the studio sometime?’ and I was like ‘Yes, Usher, I would love to get into the studio sometime.'”

Usher isn’t the only Ed Sheeran is spending time with this year. The Inquisitr previously reported that he wrote a song for Hilary Duff’s upcoming album and is seriously considering a collaboration with rapper Rick Ross. Much like Beyoncé, it’s amazing how much this singer manages to accomplish on a daily basis.

As surprising as it may sound, Sheeran also finds time to just hang out and watch television. The songwriter is currently hooked on the crime drama Love/Hate, a show that explores the criminal underworld in Dublin, Ireland. Sheeran seemed surprised that the series is popular with folks in North America.

“It’s my third time watching it now but the thing is, I wasn’t introduced to it by Irish people — I was in America and they were all watching it. All the yanks on the Taylor Swift tour, all the crew, all the roadie crew,” Sheeran explained.

He added, “They were like, ‘Ah yeah man, we’re watching this show called ‘Love/Hate’ at the moment. Here’s the DVD!’ At first I said, yeah I’ll check it out and they said it was made by RTE and I was like, all right… but then I watched it and it was incredible.”

Are you surprised by all of the stuff Ed Sheeran manages to accomplish? What do you think about the singer teaming up with Usher?
