Ariana Grande Still Quiet About ‘Don’t Be Gone Too Long’ Release Date

Ariana Grande is keeping quiet about the release of her Chris Brown duet on Twitter.

Shortly after news spread that Brown was once again headed to jail until his court hearing on April 23, Grande announced that “Don’t Be Gone Too Long” was in jeopardy. In fact, Ariana suggested that the song was officially delayed by folks behind the scenes.

After she announced this disappointing news to her fans and followers, Ariana Grande scrapped the original posts and said the song might forward as scheduled. However, she hasn’t said a word about when the track will become available to the masses. The song’s fate is still shrouded in mystery as of this writing.

According to Pop Crush, Brown could end up spending a few years behind bars if a judge determines that he committed criminal assault during an altercation in Washington D.C. last year. That case is presently scheduled to move forward on April 17, though it’s unlikely that Chris will attend the hearing since he’s in the slammer for an unrelated violation.

To appease fans who were understandably upset by the delay of “Don’t Be Gone Too Long,” Grande expressed interest in putting together a live video chat that features a handful of other musical endeavors she’s crafted. Gossip Cop points out that Ariana still hasn’t indicated when her collaboration with Chris could see the light of day.

This situation is definitely not too much fun for Ariana Grande. The Sam & Cat star is working on her highly-anticipated sophomore album, a collection of tunes that should arrive at some point this year. “Don’t Be Gone Too Long” would have helped lay the groundwork for the record’s release. Unfortunately, those plans are hanging out on the back burner.

Of course, it’s possible that Grande has the release date tucked away for safe keeping. Since the people working diligently behind-the-scenes are essentially playing the waiting game with Chris Brown’s future, chances are they’re just keeping that information under lock and key for the moment. Still, the troubled singer’s frequent brushes with the law are starting to affect the careers of those he chooses to work with in the studio.

For the moment, fans of Ariana will have to sit on their hands and wait patiently to see how the situation unfolds. There’s a possibility more info about the song’s release date could bubble to the surface once Brown’s fate is legally sealed.
