Jared Leto has no plans to abandon his band 30 Seconds to Mars anytime soon.
Although the former My So-Called Life star is busy collecting awards for his impressive performance in the acclaimed drama Dallas Buyers Club, Leto recently explained that he’s still completely dedicated to making music. In other words, fans have nothing to worry about.
The folks at Entertainment Tonight caught up with Jared Leto at the 2014 Grammy Awards Sunday night. During their chat with the award-winning actor, he revealed that his bandmates are incredibly happy about all of the kudos he’s received in recent months.
“It’s been amazing. When this happens it doesn’t just happen to me or for me. It’s fun for the family and your friends and people that you’ve worked with,” Jared Leto told the outlet.
Regarding the future of 30 Seconds to Mars: “We were literally on a stage last night in Mexico City and now we’re here today.”
Jared Leto obviously isn’t letting all of these awards go to his head. While discussing the nominations with Ryan Seacrest, the singer revealed that everyone is having tons of fun at the moment. He seems genuinely thrilled to share this experience with those closest to him.
“You know the greatest thing about this is it’s not that I’m just getting the award… it’s like all of us are getting awarded and nominated. It’s fun for the family, it’s fun for our friends — it’s just been a blast,” Leto explained.
He also took a moment to discuss the coffin he keeps in his living room:
“It sounds a little bizarre, but I ended up with it I think from a film that I did. I can’t remember why I have it, but it’s basically got a bunch of books on it. I think it’s empty. There was a very strange odor wafting from the coffin at one point. Uh, but I don’t know, when you’re on tour as much as 30 Seconds To Mars your house just becomes a giant storage unit.”
For those who aren’t keeping score, Jared Leto scored a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award for his performance in director Jean-Marc Vallee’s Dallas Buyers Club. The drama also features Jennifer Garner, Steve Zahn, and Matthew McConaughey. Leto is also up for an Academy Award for his performance.
