Zachary Levi and Missy Peregrym are set to divorce just 10 months after getting married. According to Star Pulse , the couple tied the knot in a top secret wedding in Hawaii last June. The two seem to be amicably splitting up, however, as neither has asked for spousal support, or a divide of belongings. Since there aren’t any children involved, the case should be relatively drama-free.
The two actors quietly announced their union with a picture on Instagram. Not showing their faces, they both wore navy blue sweatshirts that had a respective “Mr.” and “Mrs.” written on the hood. Neither has confirmed their split.
Zachary Levi and Missy Peregrym’s divorce is somewhat surprising to fans, but the two must have felt as though they weren’t as compatible as they had originally thought. According to Mail Online , it was Missy who filed the papers in Los Angeles last week. She listed the couple’s official separation date at December 3.
Levi recently talked about married life, and how different it actually is.
“Nobody can prepare you for marriage. Marriage is a whole other animal! With dating you can be, ‘Hey, it’s not working out,’ and you’re out. But marriage, you make a commitment. The easy outs you don’t have anymore. You’re responsible for another person’s life as they are yours,” Levi told People Magazine just last month. It does sound like he and Missy were trying to work things out at that time, but came to the conclusion that they could no longer be married shortly after.
Zachary Levi and Missy Peregrym dated in the early 00’s before breaking up for a couple of years and rekindling their love a few years later.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , the couple’s divorce filing is just as surprising at their wedding. While there may have been a few hints at a marriage struggle, no one really saw this news coming.
Shortly after getting hitched, Levi talked about his wedding.
“I’m probably too public with my life and need to kind of rein that back in a little bit. It was nice to just kind of have our own little personal, very small wedding. There were a lot of friends and family that weren’t even able to come, I felt bad about that. It’s that one big day, but it was really beautiful, excellent and intimate.”
