WrestleMania is the most coveted wrestling event of the year in the industry. For the WWE, it’s their Super Bowl. It’s their Stanley Cup Finals. It’s their NBA Championship. WWE fans gather from all around the world to watch WrestleMania in person. That’s also the event that celebrities are often used in the middle of the program.
At WrestleMania 31, Ronda Rousey appeared with the Rock in a segment with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. McMahon went towards Rousey, but the Billion Dollar Princess ran behind Triple H, who was hip tossed by Rousey. The WWE Universe was on their feet for the Rock and Rousey, who is the most-popular female athlete in the world.
Not only is Rousey a UFC champion, but she’s also a movie star. ESPN reported today that she will star in the remake of Road House. She’ll reprise the role Patrick Swayze made famous years ago. Now that she has a stronger Hollywood presence, the WWE wants her even more for WrestleMania 32.
According to Bryan Alvarez and Ringside News, the chances of Ronda Rousey appearing at WrestleMania 32 are not high at the moment.
Bryan Alvarez mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live that Ronda Rousey most likely won’t be appearing at next year’s WrestleMania event because she will be taking part in the filming for the upcoming Roadhouse remake.
As noted, WWE was trying to work out a deal with UFC to have Ronda appear at next year’s WrestleMania 32 event for an angle with Stephanie McMahon .
While the deal could end up being made right before the deadline, Rousey’s new commitment to the movie may take up her first priority. Regardless of her time, coming to WrestleMania 32 in Texas won’t be a difficult task. That’s especially accurate if she doesn’t wrestle. If the WWE wanted her to wrestle, that’d take a long commitment; one that would force her to spend time outside the octagon.
Dana White hasn’t said that he doesn’t want Rousey to show up on WWE programming. In fact, he recently noted that he respects Vince McMahon and what WWE does. If he didn’t, the WrestleMania 31 angle with Rousey would’ve never taken place.
The UFC champion belongs in a WWE ring at one point in her career. She’s close to conquering everything in mixed martial arts that there is to complete. The next logical step is her next passion in life, professional wrestling. She’s a known-WWE advocate who probably wouldn’t mind a career in the WWE. In the next few years, don’t be surprised to see her on WWE Raw competing in a match.
