WWE News: Bret Hart Seth Rollins War Of Words Continues, Hitman Fires The Latest Shot

Bret “The Hitman” Hart has recently been given a new platform to talk about the world of professional wrestling, both the past and present. For better or worse, Hart conveys his unfiltered opinions that more often than not come down on the WWE.

A verbal spat with Seth Rollins stems from an interview Bret gave to Sports Illustrated late last year where he talked about Seth. Rollins has been targeting Roman Reigns and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, while Hart has been laying into the number one contender.

Earlier this week, the Inquisitr reported that Bret Hart fired the first shot by calling Rollins reckless, citing the knee spot that broke John Cena’s nose in a match last year. Hart also blamed Rollins for getting injured in the match against Kane that forced him to relinquish the title last November and for forcing Sting to retire after their championship match at Night of Champions, even though Hart claims to have never seen the match. Rollins maintains that he felt blindsided by the comments from someone he idolized growing up.

“I have all the respect in the world for this guy, but this one hurt my feelings more than anything, was Bret Hart. Bret Hart had some comments about me and how safe I am in the ring because of John’s nose. And then me getting hurt while I was the Champion and just said you couldn’t do that because people relied on you as a top guy. And that hurt my feelings, and I haven’t seen Bret since then, but I know he comes from a different era when he worked through a lot of stuff, but man, that sucked. That hurt my feelings.”

Naturally, Rollins’ comments got back to Bret Hart, because now he appears on a weekly internet radio show and the hosts keep him up to date on the topical elements in pro wrestling. Surprisingly, rather than rein it in, Hart kept the pedal to the floor and fired a return shot in Rollins’ direction, as reported by Cageside Seats.

“You shouldn’t be mad at me. You should thank me for being so honest and you should reflect on it and make it a point throughout the rest of your career that you’re never going to injure anyone else like that again. Period.”

The Hitman didn’t stop there, though. Hart made a point of re-watching the Rollins/Cena match from July of last year where Rollins’ knee bloodied Cena and rearranged his face. Bret says the move was extremely unprofessional and unsafe, a move unfit for a champion.

“He clearly knees John Cena as hard as he can in the face. It’s not John Cena’s fault. If you watch it it’s not John Cena leaning in. It’s Seth Rollins pulling [Cena’s] head down and kneeing him as hard as he can in the face. It’s bull—-. Everything I said is true. And if he’s got hurt feelings, it’s better to have hurt feelings than a broken, shattered face.”

Bret Hart knows a little something about injuries shortening his career. A kick to the head from Goldberg in 1999 led to multiple concussions, forcing Bret to retire prematurely. The Inquisitrreported on Thursday that that move was the biggest regretGoldberg has in his career. Whether Seth Rollins retaliates again remains to be seen, but WWE officials are likely telling him to back off and let it fade.

As noted, Hart has been critical of the WWE product despite appearing at Payback back in May. Of course, Bret said he was only there to support his niece Natalya and heavily criticized the creative decisions that ended the match and the original plans proposed to him beforehand.
