Wiz Khalifa’s name has been popping up a lot lately, especially since he collaborated with Charlie Puth on the hit song “See You Again,” which might just be the song of the summer. Now, Wiz is making headlines for a whole different reason: he’s going on tour, and not with someone you’d expect, either. According to Cleveland.com, rock band Fall Out Boy will be touring with Wiz Khalifa this summer for the “ Boys of Zummer Tour .” The combination of a rapper like Wiz with rock band Fall Out Boy may seem like an odd choice at first, but Fall Out Boy guitarist Pete Wentz says there’s good reason for the band to work with Khalifa.
“Just in the first few shows we’ve played, we’ve seen fans of ours and fans of Wiz willing to give other kinds of music a shot, I know for sure when I went to shows 15 years ago, there was a lot less of that. I wish I could have went to a show that had both rap and rock.”
The “Boys of Zummer Tour” will take Wiz and Fall Out Boy to parts of Connecticut, Virginia, and New York. Tickets are sale now via TicketMaster. Wiz’s song, “See You Again,” has been tearing up the Billboard charts , and he’s also known for other hits such as “Black And Yellow” (the song that made us want to turn off the internet), and “Roll Up.”
Wiz told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazettethat he “wanted to go on tour with a rock and roll group” and spoke of the tour with Fall Out Boy as a “joint effort.” Wiz also told the paper that he counts live bands like Queen, Journey, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers among his influences. The Boys of Zummer Tourkicks off June 23 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga, New York, and will continue into August, finally ending up at the Hollywood Bowl in California. Fall Out Boy has been using Twitter heavily to promote their tour with Wiz.

In addition to Fall Out Boy and Khalifa, the Boys of Zummer tour will feature appearances by DJ Drama and Hoodie Allen. Early buyers can snag lawn tickets now while they last, and there are also VIP Packages that include a meet-and-greet with Wiz himself (sorry Fall Out Boy fans, there’s no Meet-And-Greet package for the band). The arena looks to be pretty small, so grab tickets quickly if you’re interested.
