Who Is Cable And What To Expect In ‘Deadpool’ Sequel [Spoilers]

Deadpool has been one of the most underrated characters in the Marvel Comics universe, but ever since the Deadpool movie released, starring Ryan Reynolds, the quirky “superhero” has become the star of the internet. Now, everyone wants to have a piece of this weird and extremely humorous Marvel character.
[Ed. note: Spoilers for Deadpool follow this line.]
Deadpool has already broken blockbuster records, opening this weekend at the box office with $135 million sales, USA Today reports. Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool has become the newest and biggest R-rated opening, beating The Matrix Reloaded, which opened with $91.8 million in 2003, and became the biggest February weekend and President’s Day holiday weekend blockbuster, even beating Fifty Shades of Grey’ s $85.2 million last year. After Ryan Reynolds’ flop as Green Lantern in 2011, he has come back stronger, badder, more inappropriate, but tons successful as Deadpool. Now, everyone wants to know what’s next for this bad boy superhero.
Good news to Deadpool fans, the merc with a mouth is coming back for a sequel, the Hollywood Reporter confirms. According to the report, Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have already rolled up their sleeves and are neck deep in writing the script for the follow-up. Deadpool director Tim Miller has yet to be confirmed for the sequel, but Fox, apparently, is obstinate about keeping the creative team intact (which is not surprising, due to the success of the movie).
“There’s so much material to mine in just the X-Men universe … In the future, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot. We’ll see. And maybe X-Force — X-Force is my priority. I really want to get that in.”
The X-Force is a group that could be held in parallel with the famous X-Men, only more vicious and militant in their approach of things. The badder and more aggressive mutants are here in the X-Force, with Marvel character Cable as their Professor X, more or less. The X-Force has a long list of agents and a developing roster, which leaves us with questions and anticipation on which X-Force members will appear on the Deadpool sequel.
And, of course, the Deadpool sequel reeks of Cable. We’ve had a good dose of Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (although she is rather difficult to place in the universe, since the movie toyed very much with her supposed character,) so we’re expecting more appearances from other mutants, such as Cable himself. Two things that point to Cable’s confirmed casting in the Deadpool sequel: that if Reynolds mentioned the X-Force, Cable being the head of the X-Force means he will be getting a lot of attention, and during the Deadpool post-credits scene, Deadpool did confirm Cable will certainly make an appearance.
The Deadpool sequel could take some time before it goes back to the screen, but at least we are appeased for now that our new favorite “superhero” will, indeed, return.
