Conservative media icon Glenn Beck has been acting out of character recently leading some people to wonder what caused the religious talk show host to have a change of heart.
Beck spoke at the annual RedStateGathering Friday where he defended the media and said he had changed his mind on the Black Lives Matter movement , according to the Washington Post .
“You can’t be as universally disliked as I am, and not do some soul-searching. Well, unless you’re Donald Trump.”

Depressed over the choices facing Americans in the upcoming presidential election, the Christian media icon said he had been doing some soul searching and investigating what he didn’t know about America.
The result: Black Lives Matter is good as is the media, but Donald Trump is bad.
Beck has previously been one of the most vocal opponents of the Black Lives Matter movement even going so far as to lead marches and condemn activists as racist and exclusionary on his radio show.
Friday, however, Glenn said they have a point and conservatives need to listen to their argument with an open heart because white Americans don’t understand what black people are saying about their experience with the police, reports InfoWars .
“I had a new kind of thought on Black Lives Matter and the all lives matter thing.”
On his radio show, Beck said America was suffering because of God’s judgment against us; he said we are using our free will to make terrible choices.
“If we’re all sitting around a table having dinner, and everybody gets pie except for you, and you say, ‘My pie matters; I don’t have pie.’ And everybody at the table looks at you and says, ‘I know; all pie matters.’”
Beck’s point was that no one was listening to the person who didn’t get the pie.
He said Donald Trump was creating a dangerous conservative version of the Black Lives Matter movement that the billionaire would use later when he loses the election. Beck warned that Trump’s supporters would blame the media for Donald’s loss, which would result in violence, according to Breitbart.
“He’s making a new group of people that so distrust and hate the system that they will buy anything.”
Beck’s dislike of Trump is nothing new, but his defense of the media is. During his speech, the conservative media icon condemned Donald for attacking the media. He said recent accusations about newspapers and television stations being biased groups who were trying to rig the election were out of line, according to the Washington Post.
“Now, what law has the press broken? When people start shouting, ‘put the press in jail,’ we’re in deep, deep trouble.”
Meanwhile, Trump asked his supporters to take part in a poll Monday so he could prove Americans were unhappy with the liberal media, according to the USA Today.
“We are running against the very dishonest and totally biased media! It’s time to hold the media accountable.”

Beck said it was statements like that, which would cause Trump’s hardcore supporters to lash out against the media and our political system. The conservative media icon accused Trump of using his presidential campaign to start a media network after the election.
Donald has made attacking the media an important part of his campaign, put he stepped up his attacks recently after a series of stories showing him in bad light and he has taken aim at specific news outlets for publishing unfavorable stories especially the New York Times.
