Wayne Newton has announced that his iconic Las Vegas home is nearly reading to begin allowing tourists.
Case de Shenandoah will being a promotional tour next month with official public tours expected to begin in February.
When visiting the home tourists will be able to examine Newton’s collection of European antiques and celebrity members that range from Nat King Cole’s watch to Johnny Cash ‘s guitar and everything in between.
Initially announced for a December debut the project was delayed because of issues with obtaining proper Las Vegas construction permits.
Included in the tour will be a museum, theater, visitors’ center and other attractions that have all been added to the property for touring purposes. Last month the Newton estate submitted paperwork to expand the museum space and theater.
Before the project was planned Newton sparred with neighbors who said buses invading their residential neighborhoods would cause a nuisance.
Already found on the property are South African penguins, Arabian horses and various pieces of priceless artwork and antiques dated back to the 17th-century.
To make room for tourists Newton, his wife and his daughter will move into a smaller house on the property so the main house can be viewed by the public.
The project is expected to employ 400 people at a time when Las Vegas is experiencing unemployment rates above 13%.
