Fans can watch the Mexico vs. Costa Rica soccer match live online and see which squad can pull through to the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The teams will meet Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET from Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with a trip to the Gold Cup final four on the line.

The match will be a chance at redemption for El Tri, who let a win against Trinidad and Tobago slip away in a wild finish on Wednesday night. After taking a late lead, Mexico allowed a goal in stoppage time to end in a 4-4 tie.

Mexico must now face Costa Rica, and as Bleacher Report points out there is much for the Mexican team to fix.

While the defense takes much of the heat, there is plenty of blame to go around, noted Joe Tansey.

“But as much as we want to blame the Mexico back four for everything that went wrong in Charlotte, the attackers must carry the weight of the blame as well. The biggest miss of the night came from Carlos Vela, who had a chance to put Mexico ahead 3-1 just seconds after Cummings netted his first strike. If the Real Sociedad man was able to put his second goal of the night into the net, Mexico would have had some space to close out the game and play a bit more relaxed.”

“However, the overall trend of poor finishing ultimately hurt El Tri as they came up short in their quest to avoid Costa Rica until the semi-final round. Mexico attempted 22 shots in the 4-4 draw, but only six of them went on target, per MLSSoccer.com . Although he did score on a piece of individual brilliance in the 51st minute, Vela only recorded one shot on target.”

Fans who watch the Mexico vs. Costa Rica soccer match live online will see a Mexican team with a lot on the line. Coach Miguel Herrera chose to focus on the Gold Cup this summer, sending what was called a “B squad” to the Copa America tournament and essentially conceding defeat. That essentially increases the pressure on an already overloaded Mexican team.

While Mexico looks for redemption, Costa Rica will be looking for their first win in the tournament. Coming out of Group B, the Costa Rican squad managed draws against El Salvador, Canada, and group winner Jamaica.
