Walmart carries the iPhone and has had a fairly successful run at selling the popular Smartphone, so it would make sense that the company is now looking to capitalize on the success of the companies iPad devices, with reports pointing to an expected sell date sometime in 2010.
With BestBuy already selling the device, the news is probably correct that other retailers will receive the devices, however demand is outweighing supply at this time and there’s simply no way Best Buy is going to give up part of their stock to Walmart, especially considering the company is an authorized Apple device seller.
According to Gary Severson, Senior Vice President of Walmart’s US stores, the company hopes to start selling the iPad line “sometime later this year.” [via 9to5 Mac]
