Vlingo has finally launched an iPhone version of its powerful voice control application.
Previously catered to BlackBerry , Vlingo lets you speak out everything from text messages to e-mails and Web navigation commands — then it translates that into typed out action on your phone. Its latest version added support for spoken Twitter and Facebook updates and even the ability to have a message you speak read back to you aloud.
Now, Vlingo is up for grabs at the Apple App Store . It boasts all the same functions as the BlackBerry version as well as a specialized map lookup tool: You say, for example, “Find a dry cleaners in Seattle” — and you get a Google Map with all the local spots in place.
A demo video of the Vlingo iPhone app follows.
