First Lady Melania Trump gained considerable buzz this weekend, after the real Melania stepped out to dinner with her family, even as the SNL version of Melania escaped the White House. As seen in the above photo, Melania and her son, Barron Trump – who hasn’t been photographed much in recent weeks, if not months – left the Trump International Hotel after they had dinner with President Donald Trump on Saturday, October 14. That same evening, SNL created their own version of Melania’s longings, as seen in the below video.

Cecily Strong starred as a lonely Melania in the SNL clip. Melania is a woman so lonely in that rendition of the show’s palace intrigue that she turns to a call center employee played by Kumail Nanjiani. Kamail stars as a put-upon man who listens to endless complaints from Americans who rage against him and his foreign accent, until he gets a call from Melania, who opens her soul to him. Melania tells him she dreamt of a blue-eyed panther drinking from a river, who gave her an ominous warning to be careful what she wished for. Melania spoke to the call center man from midnight to dawn, explaining how difficult it was to talk to her husband about abstract things.

Therefore, the TV version of Melania would call and order $400,000 worth of handbags, just to speak with the call center rep in her lonely state of being. That Melania would make mistakes in her ordering, just so she would be forced to call back and speak to her phone rep beau once more.

“Did I say red house? I meant White House. If Donald is bully and I’m married to bully, am I helping bully?”

Melania also acted as a therapist for the SNL character, asking the customer service rep why he didn’t quit his job since he hated it so much. He explained that if he quit, he wouldn’t have any money to survive. In the end of the sketch, Melania receives a beautiful bouquet of flowers, however, a deadly spider appears in the bouquet. Melania gasps but spares the life of the spider, keeping it safe in a box. The twist comes when Melania sends the spider to the call center guy, telling him that she’s the spider.

“I am your spider.”

Melania appeared at the offices of her paramour, and she thanked him for listening. Afterward, their conversations dwindled, but not before Melania’s ruse of escaping the White House was discovered. Instead of Melania’s sleeping body, a pile of purses was discovered in Melania’s bed.

“I should go before they find out that I’m not asleep.”
