The internet is reacting to the sudden death of infomercial superstar Billy Mays , the inspiration for many popular memes and gaining an unlikely fanbase following the Discovery Channel’s Pitchmen .
Although it’s early and information hasn’t been released regarding Billy Mays’ cause of death, there is some speculation that Mays may have suffered a subdural hematoma (the injury that killed Natasha Richardson ) after being hit on the head with luggage during a hard landing in Tampa yesterday. Mays joked that he was okay because he had a “hard head.” Less than 24 hours later, Billy Mays was dead.
One of the most endearing qualities a person can have is the ability to laugh at themselves, and the video below shows Mays spoofing his late-night TV pitches at a McDonald’s drive through, to the delight of all the employees.
