Portal 2 , a.k.a. The Reason Life Will Be Worth Living In 2011AD, has been given a release date. Speaking to CVG , Valve confirmed that the game would launch on 9 February 2011. I assume that’s for all the big regions.
The studio also revealed that The Office actor and co-writer Stephen Merchant will be providing the voice of ‘buddy sphere’ Wheatley. Last time we saw Wheatley in action ( here ), he had a Cockney/North London accent that sort of grated with me. I think Merchant’s dry Bristolian tones will be far more suitable.
Previously, Valve boss Gabe Newell has said the PlayStation 3 version of Portal 2 will be the “best on any console,” and has already confirmed Steam support for Sony’s console .
