Britney Spears has joined Twitter.
The often troubled pop star relaunched her website last week , and now offers links to Britney’s official YouTube, MySpace and Facebook accounts, along with her “ therealbritney ” account on Twitter.
According to various reports, the Twitter account is not being updated by Britney herself, but by staff, although you wouldn’t be able to tell from tweets such as the following:
Over a million hits in 24 hours on the new http://www.britneyspears.com. You guys really are the best fans in the world!
Can’t wait to release my secret on ET tonight. Are you ready??
although there are some obvious references to Britney being external to the account:
