Pick up, it’s the President calling. Donald Trump has reportedly decided to pressure GOP senators with calls at odd hours. An anonymous source shared that the President is ready to use the “nuclear option” with the shutdown stretching into day 35.
The current shutdown has now lasted for 35 days, making it the longest shutdown in the US history, with no agreement in sight on federal funding. A federal judge made the Trump administration ease their stance on SNAP by ordering them to disburse the payments by Wednesday.

Trump reportedly is not happy with how long the stalemate between the Democrats and Republicans has lasted. The 79-year-old is now ready to use every tactic in his arsenal to get the outcome he wants. “He will make their lives a living hell,” a Trump adviser told Axios.
“He will call them at three o’clock in the morning,” the source revealed. They also warned that Trump will likely “blow them up” in their districts. He might also resort to labeling them as “un-American” and call them “creatures of a dying institution.”
“Believe you me, he’s going to make their lives just hell,” the source concluded. Another adviser also noted how the President is “really mad” about the situation. The members of President’s administration aren’t exactly unfamiliar with his pressure tactics.
White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller’s wife spoke about how her husband was awoken in the middle of the night while on Air Force One. Katie spoke about how her husband wasn’t able to rest properly because of how frequently Trump woke him up, because he wanted to talk.
Trump’s rage about the shutdown isn’t exactly a new development, either. He took to Truth Social to rant about the shutdown. “The Democrats are far more likely to win the Midterms, and the next Presidential Election, if we don’t do the Termination of the Filibuster (The Nuclear Option!),” he began in the post.

He went on to warn that the Republicans would break the filibuster rule if the Democrats failed to do so. Trump noted that the GOP members would end it as soon as they got the chance to. “We know this because they already tried, and the only two people who didn’t go along are now out of office,” he reminded the opposition while issuing somewhat of a warning to GOP members.
“TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER!!!” the President wrote while concluding the lengthy rant. The Wall Street Journal issued a warning of its own while noting that it would be “dumb” of Republicans to break the filibuster rule. “Republicans would be dumb and hurt the country by breaking the filibuster,” the report read.
