The entire Trump family loves to be at the center of controversy! Recently, Donald Trump Jr. stirred controversy by claiming on X (formerly Twitter) that former President Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize due to affirmative action rather than merit.

“Affirmative action is when Barack Obama gets the Nobel Peace Prize instead of Donald Trump,” he wrote on June 24, 2025.

This speculative comment came after Don Jr.’s father was left out of the award. On June 20, the 79-year-old posted on Truth Social that he believes he will never receive a Nobel Peace Prize, despite claiming credit for mediating peace between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda and halting conflicts between India and Pakistan, and Serbia and Kosovo.

As quoted by a report, Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” primarily through nuclear non-proliferation initiatives and outreach to the Muslim world. People also loved Barack Obama, as he was a great speaker, extremely well-mannered, and a person of finesse.

Currently, Donald Trump is also in the running for the award after initiating a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, which, by the way, was violated by both countries just hours after the 79-year-old announced it. Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Republican Representative Buddy Carter of Georgia.

In a letter, Carter praised Trump’s “extraordinary and historic role” in helping end the armed conflict between the two nations. He also credited Trump with helping “prevent the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism from obtaining the most lethal weapon on the planet.” This was after the 79-year-old launched Operation Midnight Hammer, aimed at severely damaging Iran’s nuclear program and halting its push toward nuclear weapons.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. Iranian time, U.S. Navy submarines launched over two dozen Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Isfahan nuclear site, coinciding precisely with the B-2 bombers’ silent entry into Iranian airspace. In the next 25 minutes, approximately 75 precision-guided munitions were launched, including 14 GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs)—30,000-pound bunker-busting bombs capable of penetrating deep underground.

In retaliation, Iran targeted a U.S. military base in Qatar, though it reportedly gave prior notice; however, no casualties have been reported. Bobby Carter said, “President Trump’s influence was instrumental in forging a swift agreement that many believed to be impossible,” Carter wrote. “He took bold, decisive action to halt Iran’s nuclear development.”

Earlier this year, Rep. Darrell Issa also nominated the McDonald’s lover for his 2024 election victory, saying it had a positive impact on global peace. However, not all nominations have stuck. A Ukrainian official, Oleksandr Merezhko, recently withdrew his nomination of Trump. He said Trump had failed to make progress in ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Still, owing to Trump’s strong PR image, which includes larger-than-life political controversies, events, and maximum footage coverage, he is getting support. Pakistan announced it would also nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize, saying he helped reduce tensions with India. They called him a “true peacemaker.”

India, however, dismissed his role in the peace talks during the recent India-Pakistan conflict after India retaliated and launched  “Operation Sindoor” as a response to the infamous Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025, targeting to blow off what it terms as “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir; the group who attacked innocent civilians were killed. On May 10, America announced that India and Pakistan agreed to a rapid ceasefire and to begin talks on broader issues. After several negotiations, Donald Trump claimed credit for brokering the truce. At the same time, India rejected third-party mediation, preferring to frame the ceasefire as a bilateral judgment.
