Donald Trump reportedly arranged talks behind closed doors and then persuaded both countries to agree to put a halt to increasing tension in the Middle East. The proposal also follows Trump’s praise from Pakistan earlier this year. During a conflict between India and Pakistan, it was stressed that the ceasefire was achieved due to the intervention of President Donald Trump.

However, New Delhi vehemently opposed this claim. India has made it clear that there was no intervention from the US, and a ceasefire was achieved due to talks between the country’s military leaders. Yet, Pakistan had praised Trump’s attempt at peace and showed their support for the Nobel Peace Prize. Though Pakistan has now withdrawn its support after the US bombed Iran, Carter is still using that dialogues as a fair assessment of Trump’s negotiating power.

During the whole ceasefire debate, Donald Trump was confident that Iran and Israel would listen to him. He is also confident of winning the Nobel Peace Prize. On Truth Social, he mentioned earlier accomplishments, such as the Abraham Accords and diplomatic outreach to Africa, as additional reasons for the Nobel. “They should’ve given it to me a long time ago,” he said, “but they only like left-wing leaders.”
